Reflection
During the Statistics unit, I understood Central Tendency and Standard Deviation very well. Secondly, I would like to find more out about Confidence Intervals and Margin of Error because it seemed interesting. Lastly, Statistics can be used in the medical field, to calculate the mean resting heart rate and mean blood pressure of a patient. If I decide to go into the medical field, having previous knowledge of Statistics will be very useful!
Word Problem
It is the end of the season and the mean number of soccer goals for the league is 24 with a standard deviation of 4. If there are 6 teams in the league, calculate the following.
A) Draw the distribution
B) If most teams scored 13 goals or above, what percentage would this be?
Answer: 99.70%
C) What is the total number of teams who scored 13 goals or above?
Answer: 6 teams
D) If Patricia’s soccer team was 27.34 % above average, how many goals did her team score?
Answer: 26 goals.
