Core Competency Reflection
- Communication – Collaborating
I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share. I demonstrated this by focusing on my parts that my partner gave me, finishing it and showed it to my group. I also encouraged people to write their own. For me and everyone, it is important to be perform these actions, especially in the future teamwork project.
2. Personal/Social – Positive Awareness and Responsibility
I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy and I take pride in my work and myself. I know doing that will increase my confidency and happiness, which will encourage me to further improve my work. A good example was when my group finished this project together and we felt proud of each other.
3. Personal/Social – Social Awareness and Responsibility
I can participate in classroom or group activities that improve my class, school, or community. In this case, it was working together with my team to research about Canada geography and climate. While the first two activities were simple: just researching and writing the information down, sharing it was difficult and require a lot of effort to do because of language barrier, but we eventually finished the work together. It was a class activity that helped to improve my class and I have done it effectively.
4. Thinking – Creative Thinking
I can deliberately learn about things that interest me, and new ideas pop into my head. Whether I searched about some topics, I took the opportunity to also learn the information before writing it down and shared it to my friends, not just forgetting it.
My goal: I want to improve the ability to be in a group comfortably because sometimes I felt nervous to tell my friends and I couldn’t incoporate with the group. I can improve this by be confident and communicate more frequently with my class.
