Reflection

Looking at zodiacs such as astrological zodiacs, Chinese zodiacs, and representative animals (according to the textbook used in class), I believe that they are somewhat accurate to my general personality. My astrological zodiac is Aquarius, which are often perceived as independent, unique, visionaries, humanitarian, philanthropic, and have a strong sense of social justice which drives their energy to make the world a better place. This reading is similar to my personality type of ENFJ, which are described as born leaders, leading with passion and charisma. ENFJs are also often said to be vocal about their values, speaking up when something seems to be unjust or wrong. My Chinese zodiac for 2006 is a dog, which is represented as loyal. I resonate with both my astrological zodiac and my personality type the most, as I believe that the traits listed describe me very accurately.

However, I believe that we should not be so quick to judge others solely based on their horoscope, blood type, or personality type. Although the individual themselves may feel that their reading is accurate to some aspects of their personality, it will not represent them as a whole. I have lightheartedly “judged” people based on their astrological signs, though most of the time I’m just joking, and the star signs I dislike are based on patterns from personal experience.

I believe these fortunes are still popular today as people are constantly questioning their existence and looking for answers and reasons in life. These readings give something for people to grasp onto, and allow them to dive deeper into their personality for self-exploration purposes. It allows the reader to think, and may even give them hope.
