5.1 Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring

We learned that quadratic equations can be expressed in both general and standard form.

In this unit, we will be mainly focused on working with the general form!

Remember…
  1. A quadratic function can cross the x-axis either 0, 1 or 2 times.
  2. Points where the graph crosses the x-axis are the real solutions, because f(x) = 0.
  3. The x-intercept are called the real roots of the quadratic function.
