I usually manage stress in my life by using technology. I frequently listen to music to help cope with stress during the day, and almost always fall asleep to music to help me not stress during the night, so i can sleep semi-better then normal. I also use social media to reach out to friends and look at posts that distract me from stress and anxiety, until i’m more confident to deal with it properly. But technology can also be a stress causer for me, and probably a lot of other people. We look into recent events and hear about all these bad things happening in other countries and it makes us think, what if this happens to us? Or we see that has someone has killed another person and is running loose, what if he kills us? Or we look on social media and see a stereotypical beautiful person and stress over how we’ll never be that “perfect”. Overall for me technology is mainly a coping mechanism cause I’ve filtered all my social media to only show things that make me feel good. I still see things that upset me or are negative in my life but its 99% all stuff that I enjoy seeing. I still look into the news so i know whats happening in the world and i’m not living under a rock completely. I also use my phone to track my emotions to reflect on why i felt that way and to recognize what happened in that time-frame that made me more stressed than normal.
