Self Reflection
Communicating
I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener.
In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by engaging in conversation starters and helping other people speak their thoughts. I noticed everything there would be conversation and back and forth, we would all have a better understanding of the topic at hand.
Collaborating
I can work with others to achieve a goal.
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I ask them social questions to get to know them well and then I slowly shift gears into discussing the work that needs to be done.
Critical Thinking
I can reflect on my thinking.
I use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this lab as I deducted how had a virus based on elimination.
Creative Thinking
I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others.
An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when I asked people around for how they are going about their elimination strategy. I used that information to then eliminate my people on my own.
Personal Awareness and Responsibility
I can recognize my emotions and use strategies to manage them.
.When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I take a couple deep breaths and try to focus on the center of my vision when I close my eyes and imagine me competing the task at hand. This keeps me going even when there are some emotional disruptions along the way.
Positive Personal and Cultural Identity
I can identify my strengths and identify my potential.
Although I am challenged by focusing on a particular task for long, I can get through these challenges by tapping in to a visual image of me completing something. Imagining doing something is what helps me.
