Core Competency Reflection.

Collaboration

For this lab we had to work in groups and measure current through a circuit when adding light bulbs and gradually upping the voltage. Everyone in my group put in an effort to contribute, whether is was measuring the current, turning up the voltage, attaching the light bulbs or even just cleaning up the work space afterward. Once we all established roles we stuck too it, working smoothly as a team to complete the task.

Making and Sharing Reflecting.

Making

I use food materials in ways that minimize waste. I always use the majority of the vegetable and use all of the spices and seasoning to maximize flavour in the recipe. I’m not shy when it comes to ingredients, I always pick the biggest union or the most garlic. I never waste little bits of food.

Sharing

I assess my ability to work effectively with individuals and collaboratively. Working in groups in one of my strong suites. I thrive when my group and I can work together and get the job done.

Core competency reflection

Examples where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in my finishing product and my teams-manship with my group members.

If there is a disagreement within the group, I find it helpful too talk as a group and quickly workout an answer to our problem. Making sure everybody is happy with the final product is crucial.

I know the group is working well when I see, people helping each other and working collaboratively. When our table group is communicating and working things out quickly and efficiently you can tell we are working well.

One goal

I show that I value feedback from others in my group. Sometimes I don’t show that I value outside opinions and maybe I have to show that it effects my work that I do. Especially when my partner feels strongly about something.

PHE 9 AH Reflection

My stressors

Sometimes I can get really stressed. With unreal amounts of homework, chores and endless basketball practices its hard to manage my time properly. I cope using music and eating, usually lots of eating. Even making healthy balanced meals can improve my mood, as long as I have time. Playing basketball really helps when I’m stressed, it makes me forget about all of the stressful things in my life. Last semester I had 3 finals and 2 final projects within 3 days. I don’t Believe this is healthy for anybody, even the smartest students would be stressed out because of something like that. I worked through that week with lots of basketball and hanging out with people who make me happy.

Core Competency

I understand that my identity is made of many interconnected elements. I’m a diverse person with many skills to offer, I am a combination of so many things that have built my personality. I  work to inform myself about issues surrounding me. I am quite aware of how the world needs to change, economically and physiologically. Global and local issues are something I’m familiar with. I find it easy to be part of a group. Group work is one of my greatest strengths and I really enjoy working in group.

Core competency goal

I use strategies to help me find peace and I sustain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. I’m still working on balancing my life with work, school, basketball and fun.

What’s the World around town?

Reflection

Identifying all of the markers was easy, going onto google maps and looking at how the land was shaped overtime really helped me understand why my town has these specific economic features. Researching on websites was very easy, using google and safari too find all of my information, before putting it in words.

Maphub was a bit confusing at first but the informative video really helped, as well as someone who really knows how to trouble shoot some common problems with Maphub. Maphub is easy in the sense that it is just like google maps, except there is more personalization and customization. Placing multiple markers or my colour choice and shape was really cool. I had many problems with this platform though, saving my project was a pain and I had too create 2 accounts so that I could finish my project. Overall it worked in the end and I’m happy with the finishing product. Im happy with the way the assignment was formatted and I think it was fairly informative and I now get the concept of benefitting from the land.

Making and Sharing Reflection

My group members and I worked very well together when it came to execution and final product. We all finished around the same time and we all worked smoothly with each other in the kitchen. We adjusted the flavouring and some of the spices when needed to meet our taste requirements. We also presented well as a whole and worked together getting ingredients whenever we could, oiling each others pans whenever they needed it as well. We all knew what tasks we excelled in and those we the tasks that we decided for each other. Criticizing people when they weren’t doing something correct is a big part of it as well. Letting your group members know that they are doing something wrong is healthy and helpful If you want to do something to your best ability.

Core Competency Reflection

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to talk all the time. communication is amazing, knowing what your group members are doing is very good for your timing as a whole and your timing as an individual. Some things I think about before dividing tasks among the group members include what peoples individual skills are, and what people maybe don’t excel in. if somebody isn’t very good at chopping maybe hand that task off to there partner or trade for something that they excel at. I show that I value feedback in my group by giving feedback whenever I can, as well as positively receiving feedback from my group members. Now that we are with our new groups a goal I have would just be to work extremely well with all of my new group members and figure out what we each excel at.

English 9 Final Reflection

This visual example accurately displays the core competency, thinking in English because even though I’m not a Picses I was still very creative and innovative during most of the projects. Creative group work helped represent that as I did my part to achieve the goals we set as a group. I’m specifically proud of one project where we had to write a short story, the story turned out as planned and everyone in the group contributed.

I decided to symbolize my thoughts as a shape because shapes are creative, we use shapes all the time. whether its to build houses and skyscrapers or even in geometry class. Shapes symbolize creativity, even though I didn’t choose a concrete shape like a square or a rectangle I was still very creative with my choosing of the symbol. I picked the most creative astrology symbol (even if I had to look it up) it was still a pretty good idea.

Advertisement and persuasion

My advertisement.

Persuasion and advertising techniques.

This advertisement is supposed to make you feel like you have no time and you must buy the product now. The ad is simple but not overbearing, it makes you feel like you will never get a better offer. It doesn’t shame other companies in an act of defamation but it is telling you that it is simply better. It gives you visual representation with two of our real products on a happy customers wrists. This ad uses a logical approach. If you take a look you have see all of the numbers used like 30% off or 350.50$. The other technique we used was special offer. we represented this by offering a buy one get one free and telling our consumers that the product will soon go out of stock so you must buy it now.

Core competency reflection.

I can understand and share information about the topic of interest in a clear, organized way. This project has engaged my presentation skills and helped me access the creative part of my brain by getting me to create an advertisement. I have never done a project like this so it was. pretty cool to attempt something like this. Rehearsal was something I would tell myself to do more of next time around. I could’ve used a bit more practice, I also could’ve communicated better with my group members. There are certain thing that could’ve been better but overall I think it was just fine.

Meal planning assignment.

This family is very busy during the week and on this particular week they need to find out what there going to eat, who’s going to cook it and when they will eat it. They would like to have a meal plan and they are asking you to make one for them.I have solved the problem below.

Solution.

Official meal planning.

What’s being made12 servings of lasagne8 servings of lasagne6 servings of chicken noodle soupLeftover 4 servings of lasagne and 2 servings of chicken noodle soup.4 servings of beef stew.
Why is it being madeParent B has fitness so parent A and Teen 1 should cook. Lasagne will give us leftovers and extra for the next day. Both teen get home at 3:30 and the parents get home at 5:30 and 6:00. The teens warming up the dinner is the smart thing to do.Parent B and Teen 2 haven’t taken there turn cooking yetMaking good use of the food so it doesn’t go bad in the fridge. the teens who are going should eat soup and pasta.Teen 1 has work until 9:30 so Teen 2 and parent B should cook.
What time is it being made5:005:306:305:456:30

Justification

I have worked around the entire families schedule and created a meal plan that will work for all of them. Leftovers are very helpful in real life and for this imaginary family so I included a realistic plan for the family that includes the time table and leftovers, plus consideration for the family and who might be tired.

Old-Fashioned Beef Stew

Craig Lee for The New York Times

This classic stick-to-your-ribs stew is the ideal project for a chilly weekend. Beef, onion, carrots, potatoes and red wine come together in cozy harmony. If you are feeding a crowd, good news: It doubles (or triples) beautifully.

Collaboration reflection

My partner and I seemed to work well together even though I was away for a large period of the assignment we still seemed to get all of the work done on time. We emailed and shared the documents through teams and it worked very well. Word documents, email, edublogs and forms were platforms we used during this assignment, I knew how to use all of the applications to complete the assignment. We shared the work load very well, with one partner doing typing and confirmation and the other partner doing the research. All of the evidence is in the graph, it is neatly displayed and has all of the required information. We shared our work load fairly well, our information should match up perfectly, our edublogs will be different; whether that’s the distribution of the information or maybe the format.
