Metal 11 Edu-blog reflection

I made this little box using a MIG welder, which was pretty cool but also hard to do. The hardest part was getting the welds to look good and strong, especially at the corners where all the pieces met up. Sometimes my welds were messy or burned through, so I had to stop, figure out what went wrong, mess with the machine, and try again. But even with the challenges, I totally nailed it and made a super sturdy box. I’m really proud of how straight my welds ended up looking on most of it. If I did it again, I’d probably spend even more time making sure all the metal pieces were perfectly lined up before I started welding, just to make it even easier. This project definitely taught me a lot about welding and how important it is to be super careful and patient when you’re building stuff.

Earth Science 11 – Reflection

My Artifact/My Project

I chose the ocean floor because learning that the ocean floor is not flat but has many different features, like mountains, valleys, and trenches. The mid-ocean ridge is a long underwater mountain range where new ocean floor is formed from rising magma. I also learned about deep-sea trenches, which are the deepest parts of the ocean and form where one tectonic plate slides under another. There are also flat areas called abyssal plains and tall underwater volcanoes called seamounts. Learning about the ocean floor helped me understand how Earth’s surface is always changing, even under the sea. All of this was very interesting to me

Core Competency Reflection

When I need to boost my mood or focus, I usually go for a walk around the school. It helps me clear my head and get away from whatever I’m doing for a bit. I’ll walk around the hallways, and it gives me a chance to breathe and relax. If I’m not in the mood for that, I’ll just pull out my phone and scroll on social media or watch a funny video. It’s a way to take my mind off things before I get back to studying or whatever I need to do.

Some skills I’ve developed to make my creative activities better are planning my time and thinking of ideas. I’ve learned that if I organize my time, I can focus better and not rush through my work. so I have a clear idea of what I want to do. Sometimes, I just write down a bunch of ideas or draw quick sketches to help me decide. Practicing more has also helped me get better at things like drawing or writing, because the more I do it, the easier it gets.

My goal is to work on some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are

Building and maintaining relationships in a classroom is important because it helps everyone feel safe, respected, and included. When students are kind to one another, listen, and work together, the classroom becomes a better place to learn. Talking clearly, helping classmates, and being positive can make friendships stronger. Including others and respecting different opinions also helps build trust. By being responsible and supportive, we can create a friendly environment where everyone feels like they belong.

Learning about First Nations peoples helps us understand the rich history, cultures, and traditions that have shaped our world. It opens our eyes to their deep connection to the land, their stories, and their values, which teach us about respect, kindness, and living with nature. By learning about their experiences, including challenges they have faced, we can build greater empathy and appreciation for them. This awareness helps us make more thoughtful choices, respect others, and create a more inclusive and understanding world. First Nations peoples are important today because they carry the history, wisdom, and traditions of the land we live on. They have unique knowledge about nature, the environment, and how to live in balance with the world. Their cultures and stories teach us about respect, kindness, and community. Learning from First Nations peoples helps us understand the past and work toward a future where everyone is treated fairly. They remind us of the value of diversity and the need to care for the earth and each other.

Life Saving Measures

We learnt about CPR, substance and alcohol addiction, and naloxone from the presenters in the three seminars we attended. I am now aware of the new format for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which is what I learnt from these three presentations. I can now perform CPR as effectively as possible in the event that the need arises. The liver tries to help the body get rid of the alcohol, and it’s a reality that throwing up alcohol is the same as overdosing, according to the presentation about drugs and alcohol. I learnt the definition and mechanism of naloxone from the presentation.

The significance of these lectures stems from the need to educate young people on these subjects in order to guarantee their safety and give them a chance to avoid harm. Additionally, I believe it is important since knowing this can help you prevent harm or, worse, death to others.

critical and reflective thinking

I can analyze evidence to make judgments

I think beofre i do or say something, or even judge something. So when i learn about this stuff hopefully if anything like this ever happens i can snap into action.

Inductive/Deductive Reasoning in Popular Games

Master mind is the game I played. In Mastermind you are either the Codebreaker or Codemaker. The Codemaker secretly places four colored Code Pegs in any sequence. If you are the Codebreaker you then have ten turns to figure out the order of the Codemaker’s pegs. You guess the code by placing Code Pegs in the board.

I just added random colors for the first guess, it gave me the answers if I had the right colors or not and if I saw a white dot meaning I had the right color just wrong placement I would put the colors in the other positions until I got it right.

I think this game was Inductive because there was examples and things that showed if I had the right colors in the right or wrong place on the board.

Thinking – CLE 10

I can explore materials and actions  In every class where research is supposed to be done, I get it done with ease. I love researching and enjoy learning about new things all the time and that is what research does. When I am given a prompt, it is even easier because I know exactly what I am looking for.

French Grade 9 Reflection

I have improved so much this semester in French even though I am still not very good I have improved. I now know numbers from 1-10 but before I didn’t even know past 3. I have also learned many other things that I am starting to understand.

I am still finding the pronunciation challenging. I can not roll my R’s and some words just don’t come out of my mouth right. This is the most challenging part and always will be for me because I am not used to it and it just doesn’t seem normal for it to come out of my mouth.

I am most proud of the project where I researched food from France. That assignment had me most interested and I learned so much about food from different cultures. We had to find a topic about France and some how connect it back to the course French 9.

My work habits during this project where pretty good because I had my entire plan and what I wanted to do right away. I put in a lot of effort into this project and I did pretty well. I was working on it in class and at home that is why I am proud of myself about this project.

Off the Rim: The movie

My Movie

Plot, Character, Setting and Mood

· Explain how you figured out what your Avatar would look like

I figured out how my characters looked like because of there life style and how they acted. There was no specific points in the book which explained what either of the characters looked like, so I had to go by the way they acted and there lifestyle.

· How did you choose the plot points?

It was pretty obvious when main plot points came along in the story. Such as when she started to receive messages threatening her, this is where the story changed from just basketball to having to worry about her life and every decision she made.

· Explain how you figured out the setting in your story. Why is the setting significant to the story?

The setting was very easy to figure out because one of the main parts of the story is basketball being played, this means that the basketball court at there high school was the setting. The setting is significant to this story because basketball is the main thing happening in this story there is always talk about basketball in this book.

· Explain what the word mood means and how/why you picked the song that you picked?

I picked this song because it gives off a spooky mood and this book is quite spooky when she starts to receive those messages from someone she did not know. This song goes very well with the story.

Core Competency Reflection

· This is how I select images and words to create impact for different audiences:

The images I chose impacted my presentation very well because every single picture I chose had a meaning to it and it always connected some how to the slide with the information on it. This is why it impacted the audiences.

· When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I take a break go and eat something or I go and talk to one of my friends around me. By doing this helps me refocus and come back to working with a fresh and ready mind.

· When I have valuable ideas to share about, and I am in a group, I usually share my opinion and hear out what everyone else’s ideas are. If I think that it could help me improve my work, I use them as inspiration to build up on my idea so that I can show my effort in the best way I can.

Never back down never what
