Winter Concert Reflection

Personal/Social Competency Reflection

In my journey as a choir member, I have found that reflecting on my personal experiences, such as past performances, enhances my well-being, particularly when we are having class time. When facing challenging pieces or demanding rehearsals, I often look back on my personal journey in choir as a source of inspiration and resilience, reminding myself that I have practiced as much as I could and that I have done a concert sucessfully before. I attempt to calm myself down when I am nervous and things do not go smoothly so that I can do my part.

In my journey as a choir member, I have found that reflecting on my personal experiences, such as past performances, enhances my well-being when I calm myself down by reminding myself of my efforts. As a choir member, I consistently take ownership of my vocal goals, learning, and behavior, as seen in my dedication to practice at home. I have put in effort to remember the lyrics and fixed my pose whenever I remembered or was reminded by others.

I tried to listen to everything that I was told about the concert and the songs and remembered them; as seen in class warm-ups when I remembered to point my fingers in “Yonder, Yonder, Yonder, Yon-der” where we sing multiple short verses and change their order. This helped me make less mistakes and naturally sing the right lyrics and hold myself in a proper manner for the concert.

I have also learned to overcome challenges by practicing a lot and not giving up, which made me even more confident in my singing. Whenever I get things wrong or a part I sang is not perfect in practice, I make note of it and make sure I do not forget what I need to do for that part in the future.

CLE10 Core Competencies

Communication Prompts:

Creative ThinkingPrompt:

Positive Personal Identity Prompts:

How I Give Impact

This is how I select images and words to create impact to the audience: Just like using these accordions and put it on the side next to the other Core Competencies; I make things easier to navigate and see at once.

How I Collect Information

Some of my strategies for collecting relevant information includes: Searching about the same topic in different words, trying different things that help me learn about the topic; and seeing if what a website says is valid or not by checking other sources and comparing them.

My Creativity

An example of an idea that I developed that was new to my peers is when I used the Divi Builder add-on for my edublog. Before making my edublog, I kept searching for ways to enhance it and make my work better

  My Path

I think my experience of researching about specific careers influenced what career I want to have. I knew I liked drawing, but I was not sure how commited I am and if I would be able to handle the stress of making quality work in a limited amount of time.

Core Competency Goals

076-ylee4 About Me, Communication, Core Competencies, Grade 10, Personal/Social, Self-Assessment, Thinking September 18, 2022October 28, 2022 1 Comment

Communication: I do contribute in groups, however I do not put in much energy to saying ideas and suggestions I have. I just do what i feel like is enough. I plan to tell everyone every ideas I have from now on.

Collaboration: I do not make the effort to make sure all my ideas are considered; just the most important ones. However, from now on I will make the energy-draining effort to make sure that I can properly collaborate with partners/group-mates.

Critical Thinking: I only pushed ideas that I thougt would get rid of, or balance out bad parts about projects.

Creative thinking: An example of this is when I got creative and got many ideas from group projects for this post.

Personal awareness: I become a leader when I feel that a decent one is needed. I do a balanced amount of control over the situation when it feels like there’s no direction.

Positive Personal Identity: I was put into many summercamps& schools, which was what led me to becoming an artist. I was in a drama summer camp, but they made us draw, saying that art was important in drama too, which allowed me to discover my passion for art.

Social awareness: When I make new friends, I make friends with those who have no friends in the classroom and who is not making moves to make friends. This way, I can make friends meaningfully, with those that need friends.
