My most memorable food experience was when I was 8 years old and I went with my family to a fancy restaurant in downtown Vancouver. This restaurant specialized in their desserts and my dad insisted that I got their chocolate cake. The cake was enormous, it had four different layers of chocolate and was an adult size serving. Despite this I managed to eat the entire thing, it was delicious. Later that night once i got home I started feeling a bit uneasy in my stomach and needed to lie down. Right as I went to rest I felt my stomach rejecting all the food I had just previously eaten. I sprinted as fast as I could over to the bathroom but I could not make it in time. Unable to stop myself threw up all over the floor and sink. For the next two hours I had to stay in the bathroom until I finally stopped vomiting. I stayed in bed for the next days with an uneasy stomach. This was by far my most memorable experience with food.
Hey Caelan, did you ever eat chocolate cake again, or did that ruin it for you?
It took about a year for me to try eating it again and I haven’t had a problem eating it since.
That is kind of like a bad experience, did you think you have an allergy in the moment you ate the cake?
No, I think I had just eaten too much.
