Digital Footprint

My view of a digital footprint, it is a imprint of the things you’ve searched, websites you’ve clicked on, or even things you have purchased. It includes comments you put online and any online post or video for the public to see.

3) First I just searched my name on Google which I scrolled through the results. I browsed at the images but I didn’t find anything on myself. I added the quotations to my name and city, I double checked everything but I found nothing. I was not surprised that nothing came up, I wasn’t expecting to find anything on myself anyway because I don’t have many social media platforms. I’m glad that photo’s didn’t come up because I don’t want my face plastered on Google images or any of my social media accounts on search.

To others they might think it’s good that nothing comes up. Some others might think that it is strange that nothing comes up because most kids have at least one social media account that pops up. I think it looks good for me because when I apply for a job, if they search me up and nothing comes up they can’t assume who I am off of observing pictures or videos. It goes back to the saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover but the sad thing is we are judged by our looks and actions everyday and especially on social media.

I would say I have a good control of my online identity because I have a clean slate online. This will benefit me in the future for jobs and education. I don’t care much for social media its not necessary for me.
