Show and Tell Presentation Reflection

My presentation was about the show supernatural. I think the best part of my presentation was that I introduced my classmates to a new show. I was also able to analyze the growth of horror from the early 2000s to now. if I had to do this again, I might look at different aspects of the show, like character growth. I also might come up with more questions to lengthen class discussion.
I chose to do y presentation on this show because I really love it and figured it would be fun to research. I mostly collected information through personal experience, research and watching the show.
Research Assignment Reflection
The core competencies we demonstrated with the research assignment were creative thinking, critical & reflective thinking, and collaboration. We demonstrated creative thinking by choosing our topic and coming up with our questions. We demonstrated critical and reflective thinking by analyzing the data after the survey and reflecting on our conclusion. We demonstrated collaboration by working together to choose the topic, and the questions and concluding our research.
Buntzen Reflection
I think the creator placed the gift in their heart so that nobody else could find it and tell you what it is, you must find out for yourself.
The “gift” I chose was a nice rock with little shiny black crystals sticking out, I chose it because it reminded me of a rock I found in my backyard when I was younger.
I think rock represents all people because the outside was dirty and a bit ugly, but the crystals on the inside were very beautiful.
family tradition
I made gnocchi. Gnocchi has been a family tradition for as long as anyone can remember. It is from my mom’s side and we always make way more than we can eat and we eat as much as we can. We usually make it with tomato sauce or butter.I have made this dish a lot more times than i can count and it has always been really fun to make. My moms grandma used to always make it for her so that is probably where the tradition started.
tomato soup
I just finished making tomato soup.I did not buy anything and i used canned tomatoes that were in my pantry. i found a recipe that only used 3 ingredients, canned tomatoes, onion, and butter. it was very creamy, tho it had a bit of an acidy aftertaste that burned on my throat a little bit, but i think that is common i tomato soup because tomatoes are a bit acidy. overall it was very good and i might make it again.
dinner rolls
This week I made dinner rolls. I found a recipe that used milk because my milk was about to expire and it would have gone to the garbage if i had not used it. They were very soft and, with some jam and butter, they were perfect for breakfast.I used a recipe that i found on YouTube and i very much enjoyed making them.They were very easy to make and i did not encounter any challenges.I will definitely make these over and over again because they were very good, easy to make and very convenient.
Potato Cheese Sticks
This week i made potato cheese sticks from leftover mashed potatoes. They were very crunchy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. I used a recipe i had seen on Instagram. There was only one problem and that was that there was too much cheese so when we put them in the oven some of them exploded and had cheese leaking out so if i would make these again i would cut the cheese into smaller bits. I am most proud of the fact that they tasted pretty good and they were perfect for eating while watching a movie.
Teamwork
This week i made dinner for my whole family because my mom had to work late. I made meat, seasoned with rosemary, salt and garlic, and pasta with tomato sauce. I also added some tomatoes and some lettuce on the side. My parents usually make dinner but i have been asked to do this before and i usually enjoy doing it. If i had not made dinner then we probably would have eaten really late because we would have had to wait for somebody else to get home. Since the outbreak i have been cooking meals a lot more due to the fact that i am home all day. The only challenge i faced was that i had to keep a close eye on the meat so that it didn’t burn and that was a bit annoying.
Cinnamon Buns
I made cinnamon buns and i used this tool that is kind of like a butter knife meets a spatula. I used it to spread the cinnamon filling onto the dough. if someone did not have it they could use a spatula or a butter knife or really anything. this tool doesn’t require a lot of skill and is not particularly dangerous to use so you could really use it any way you want. the recipe for the cinnamon buns was taken from youtube on the Tasty channel, i will for sure make them again mostly because they tasted really good and they were really fun to make.
