The assignment wasn’t easy as the topic was a quite intense topic. The assignment made me look much more deeper in the indigenous culture and learn a lot more than I knew from before. The hardest part for me about the assignment was finding binary opposites and perspectives on the lyrics because I wasn’t well educated about the topic. This assignment made me learn a lot more about the culture and perspective of the stories. I over came the problem by getting other peoples perspective on the book and discussing it with them. My peers helped me learned a lot and helped me with the assignment.
The stock market project was a project where I could learn about the stock market and how it works. I enjoyed doing the stock market project as it was interesting how much my stocks would go up or down. I was always interested in stock but didn’t know where to start and this project helped me understand. I will use this life skill in the future to make money without doing anything.
I changed a lot throughout the course by communicating to my peers and teacher. In the beginning of the semester I tried to figure everything out myself which didn’t get me far but, as time goes on, I started to communicate with my peers/teachers to ask them questions often. This helped me a lot near the end of the course and taught me a life lesson on why communication is very important. I regret not asking questions earlier on the semester because if I did my grade would’ve been better. Now that it is near the end of the semester I plan onto asking a lot more questions to my teachers and peers so I can be prepared for my final test. To improve for next semester I will ask more questions to my teachers and peers to help me through the semester.
My greatest strength was the part where I presented my project. I can talk loud and clear and explain things how I see it. I enjoy talking about a project that I find interest in and I like to share my ideas and hear about others’ ideas.
Core competency self-assessment
I chose my project and paintings, the reason why I chose this is because some artists make art that seems or gives a creepy vibe. An example of a artist was Picassos self-portrait paintings. His portraits were good in his early days, but the appearance started to change a lot as time went on and there wasn’t a clear explanation for why it did.
In this metal art 12, we got to choose what we wanted to make and finish the projects with the knowledge we learned from previous projects. I made a Volkswagen sign with round metal, measure, cut, weld, and clean it up to look better. There a couple of things I could’ve done to speed up the progress, but it wasn’t that slow. I spent my time wisely majority of the time. I was proud that I knew what to do most of the time and i could depend on myself.
I can analyze evidence and make judgments. I make the most beneficial decisions when it comes to group work because I know my decision also lies with them.
I can imagine and change myself. When I make mistakes I always try to do better by reflecting on my mistakes. I always try to change myself to become a better student each day.
I can ask and respond to questions to be an active listener. When group members ask me questions, I can respond with confidence and show that I know what to do.
I can reflect on my own thinking. Before I make an decision, I make sure that it’s the best option for the group and we can all agree on it.
I know the group is working well together when I see the power points already organized and ready for the presentation day. I also know because we discuss how we will present it and when they ask me questions on how to do a certain thing.
If there is a disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to think about their perspective and make a reasonable change so we can make an agreement.
If the group is not productive, we can talk it out and give them notice so they can get back on track in order to get things moving in the right direction.
I show others that I truly value their contributions by thanking them and complimenting their hard work. I like to thank people for hard-working since it shows that they care about their grades and others.
I can ask questions when I am having a hard time understanding and I can be an active listener when people are telling me how to do things or sharing ideas about chemistry. When I understand the information I try to help the people around me by detailing is much as possible when I explain.

I can work with others to achieve my goals. One of the examples would be me doing group labs with others and working together to finish the lab. I try to fairly distribute the work with others so it’s fair for all of us at all times.

I know that my qualities and I can use them to learn things and study them. I am good at listening to things and taking notes. It makes my studying much easier. One of things I can work on is using my time more wisely. I tend to Procrastinate when I need to be studying the most.
Thinking
I can reflect on my actions and try to adjust them in order to become better at something. I am opened minded and I can see things from other peoples view which makes it easier for me to understand them and easier to realize where they could be struggling.
this is the titration lab which was probably my favorite one out of all the labs. The lab needed a lot of concentration and precision to successfully complete the lab. It was fun working with others since we got to take turn on pouring the base to the acid.
In this activity we had to research about Polygamy to argue polygamy should be legal. My job was to research about the negative side effects and see if it’s valid to be illegal. I also was 1 out of the 2 speakers. As I was researching about it, there were no negative effects and most polygamous relationships fail because one always feel left out. This problem is not because of polygamy but the persons fault for agreeing on something they do not like.
