Working collaboratively with others

In Precalculus 11, we did work many times together. This way of learning was very helpful for me. By communicating with my peers I was able to obtain a deeper understanding of the subject. Together, we were able to use all our knowledge on the subject to tackle questions that would be harder to solve alone. Group work also helped with lessening errors in work. In my experience our group was very good at correcting each other’s mistakes. Working in a group also made doing work more enjoyable and retainable.

Strategically preparing for assessments

I find that I have a poor strategy for preparing in assessments. I was very inconsistent with properly preparing for my assessment, sometimes I was very good with preparing myself for an assessment, studying well ahead of tests and quizzes. However I would sometimes not do all the workbook questions, as I was unmotivated and lacked enough knowledge to understand the questions given. This had a negative impact on my assignments and tests. Overall, I would have greater understanding and go beyond a proficient grade with better study habits.

Advice for Future Students

For future students taking Precalculus 11 or any math, I advise not to be intimidated and be open minded when learning math, as there are often new topics that are hard to understand at first, but with enough practice, it will get much easier. And dont be afraid to ask for help, ask a friend, or the teacher if your mind cant wrap your head around a concept. I also recommend to change study habits if you understand that you are not very good at managing time and are easily distracted. I recommend going over the new things you’ve learned the day after you have learned them, and to study well ahead of the test. One way that helped me prepare for my tests and quizzes, was to look at the onenote and study the notes a day or two before the test, and redo the group work questions. This helped me know what concepts I am ready for, and which I have not.
