Pasta Carbonara

Making and Sharing Reflection

Making- Me and my partner made a plan before we started this lab, we discussed who would be cutting the veggies and who would cut the bacon. we also discussed who would cook the bacon and veggies and who would stir the pasta. The way we minimized food waste was we asked each other how hungry we were and based the amount of ingredients we picked up on how hungry we were.

Sharing- Me and my partner decided to split the pasta in half when deciding how to split the food between us. we also discussed how we could have made this better next time and we decided that we should have saved a little more pasta water so that the sauce was a little more creamier.

Core Competency Reflection

Examples of where I communicated clearly and purposefully can be seen when I was asking my partner if he wanted to cook the bacon and veggies or stir the pasta. One of the ways I ensured my group was clear on the common purpose was to make a plan before starting the process of making the pasta, what we discussed was about who was going to cut the bacon, and who was going to cook it, we also discussed who was going to cook the pasta.

one goal I intend to work towards is when my group has a disagreement instead of getting mad at them when they dont understand what I am trying to say because it is sometimes hard for me to say what i am thinking i should take a deep breath and tell them.

I think the learning aspect Organizing your digital files is a strength for me because since grade 9 i have kept all assignment that are saved on my computer in seperate files for each class. An example of this is the assignment “A Story in Three Frames” where i kept all the different photos and photoshop files in a file for the assignment. This helped me complete the assignment by making it easier to find all the things needed to hand in the assignment.

Organization is important because as a student if you organize all your assignments in seperate folders than you will know where everything is when you have to hand in the assignment.

In the story in three frames assignment, I learned a type of photography that I have always wanted to learn which was Lego photography. Specifically, I learned that because that Lego is made of a shiny plastic, it is best to take the picture outside on a cloudy day or use some sort of diffused lighting

Core Competency Self-Assessment

The process for writing an in-class composition is different than one where you can take the essay home.  Being able to have more time is a huge advantage. Ideas don’t always come when we need them to, so more time allows for deeper thinking. There is far more pressure with in-class writing, while being able to take it home enables you to focus on your own work and not think of others work. Being able to discuss ideas with others also helps with the writing process. I find it useful to discuss my ideas with family or teachers.

Pancakes

Making and Sharing reflection

My partner and I were able to use the food materials in a way that minimized waste by pouring all the pancake batter in even if it made some pancakes bigger than others.

During this lab I was able to show that i value my partners feedback by, I asked my partner how he liked his pancakes and which pancake he wanted becaue one was small and one was big.

Reflection

I was able to Identify a problem with ease. The way I was able to find the problem and solutions was to search the internet and find lots of different articles to read about that problem.I thought about my project from a backwards design. I was able to think about how I wanted the Telephone to look before I thought of the solutions. I was not satisfied with the result of my design but was satisfied with the solutions. I would choose not to refine my assignment because I think it included all the necessary elements about the telephone.

When I googled my name the only result i got was my twitter account. I only created my twitter account to know when YouTubers posted a new video or are doing a giveaway. I have been really careful not to do any of the five C’s. I have also been careful not to give away my identity to anyone on the internet.

My existing footprint won’t affect my future education or anything.

Strategies I can use to keep my digital footprint appropriate and safe are: To think before posting a photo on any social media platform, Or just not even post anything on social media.

My strength I chose to discuss is my multiplication. I was able to find out the answer to most Multiplication questions pretty quick.

My area of growth I chose to discuss is paying attention in class. at the start of this year it was really hard for me to pay attention in class but as we got later in the year it was easier for me pay attention

My Tribute Costume

I think my personality is the quiet but strong type. Some of my important relationships are with my cousins, my mom and my dad, and my brother and 3 of my friends. Some skills that would help me in the Hunger Games are fishing (if there’s water), bow shooting, and the ability to not feel cold even if it is freezing. And my ability to stay calm would help me in the games because I wouldn’t feel pressure.           

Reflection

My use of wings in the tribute costume was innovative because people might not put wings on a cloak. While working on this project I developed my ideas by choosing ideas that looked unique and the best. What I enjoyed most about my visual representation was creating it and seeing all the options to choose from. The next time I would do this i will change the colour scheme so it is easier to see the detail. During the process I really enjoy creating characters/costumes.
