A core competency I have demonstrated within this group project, is the ability to collaborate with my peers. Within the group research, I have taken a role which help stear my group members into topics that would contribute with findings we get . I have also sufficiently demonstrated the ability to communicate my ideas and clear up any misunderstandings whenever one occured.
In this course a core competency that I have demonstrated within the course is communication. An assignment that has demonstrated this is the straightwashing group activity I did with my classmates. We had to discuss what we understood about straightwashing and had to discuss what social responsibilities and things that can be done to help mitigate the effects.
I am Joven Romualdo. I was born a Filipino, but I was raised in Canada. I’m a simple person that enjoys many things in life being able to create, draw, and express myself through the arts. I do not like to interact with people I barely know, so the friends I already have are very important to me. I really do care about the things I create, and I am self-critical when I see something that doesn’t fit me.
I was growing up, and learning things at my Elementary School Mundy Road. I have never questioned who I am and never stopped being myself. I only started when people started to question who I was, where I came from, and what I was. The thought stayed in my subconsciousness but I didn’t care because I already knew who I was, a person who smiled and braved things through without a care in the world.
It all started when I was a small baby. I was around three my mother and I moved to Canada to live with my father and grandparents. I do not remember much but I do remember that I lived on Marmont str. moved to Hillcrest str. and back. We lived in Hillcrest for seven years so moving made me feel like I lost everything I built up. These events don’t affect me much now but during the time they happened, it felt like the end of the world.
In elementary it was easier for me to draw whenever I wanted because I usually had a lot of free time, and most of the time the teachers encouraged me. I always drew a lot of cartoon animals and cartoon people because that’s what I always watched on tv, cartoons! In high school, I have decided I wanted to try Drafting Design and Animation because, I want to prepare for possible careers I may pick in the future like animation or something more advanced like 3D modelling.
If anyone were to ask me what I wanted to be I would say I want to be a person who enjoys the things they do. I am currently learning how to do those things properly but in the future, I will be able to do what I want as a job. I want to be an artist, animator and many more. Because I have my friends, family, and people who care for me, I can do anything. I would call myself a metaphorical panda because panda’s get to do what they love every day, they will do their bamboo eating as I create my own art. And that, I say, is the best thing of all.

Iqaluit, Nunavut
Two land formations inside of and near Nunavut, Iqaluit are the Everett Mountains and its rolling hills. They exist because of glaciation as they are near the Arctic circle. There may also be some Volcanic activity involved. Because of this, there are usually Tobogganers, dog sledders and then some who come to visit.
Having Maritime arctic winds around making the place cold, Iqaluit is in a tundra. Iqaluit is quite far up north so the average temperature rarely ever goes above freezing levels. There have been some clothing stores, and a Hotel there because of that.
Iqaluit doesn’t have much vegetation, no trees a few shrubs and other small variety plants. This is because of how harsh the growing conditions are, because of the frost. They would rather do other ways of getting food like getting them through supply ships. The food is also twice as much as it would cost anywhere else because of this.
I think it would be a great idea to make a road that connects to mainstream cities allowing this city to have more access to supplies that they could buy. They would be able to have more tourism and have more opportunities. It would also be a good idea to try to build a large project greenhouse to allow them to have more vegetation without having it to be outside of their land. Another development that could positively affect Iqaluit is that if they used the open area for testing, this would allow for new areas of science to bloom.
