Creating a Positive Digital Footprint
Personal/Social Competency reflection
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence includes posting rarely, triple checking my post before I post and staying off my phone as much as possible. The reasoning behind this is that rarely posting limits you from posting the offensive content something that may affect your safety and making mistakes. I learned from other people’s mistakes, so I don’t have to go through what they have. They are a tremendous number of celebrities who say the wrong thing and ruin their life. All it takes is one mistake and your career is over. Triple checking my post prevents me from posting anything offensive and staying off my phone helps me keep a balanced life outside of the digital world. Some short/long term goals with my digital spaces include starting a Twitch account where I stream games. I play late nights on weekends with friends and hopefully one day having an audience that tunes in every week to watch me play. My plan to achieve them is to start somewhere “Rome wasn’t built in one day” so I will take baby steps like creating a Twitch account and building my own pc so that one day my goals will be achieved. Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are chatting with my friends daily on applications such as Snapchat, Xbox and Instagram. It is important to check on my friends for their wellbeing to make sure everything is alright. These are some of the ways I communicate with my friends during the pandemic because we cannot hangout with each other like we used to be able. Technology helps solve that problem.
