Reflection
How did I know the information I gathered was reliable?
I knew that the information I collected was reliable because the main source I used was included in research sites that the school has subscribed to. I had also used the textbook provided to me as a source. The remaining sources were used for cross-reference to verify information I had found.
How did I choose my medium to display my learning? Was it geared towards my audience and criteria?
The medium I chose to display my learning was Microsoft Sway, which I chose because I wanted to include as much information that I could show on a screen, yet create a timeline that was not separated into slides or pages, like I would with Microsoft PowerPoint or Word. I do believe that my timeline was directed towards my criteria, but I also think that without context, an audience would have trouble understanding what I had included.
Were you satisfied with the result of your design?
As with most projects I make, I am not satisfied and see a vast space for improvement, and comparison with other projects does make me think about what I could have done better.
How would you refine your assignment in the future?
First, I would stop procrastinating and give myself time to work on this assignment. Then, I would make individual notes about each event in the timeline, and create a better paragraph for each segment of my work. If I could, I would make my timeline without the use of a third party program, and instead create the timeline using HTML and CSS to give myself more control over how the presentation appears.
