This infographic shows what a digital footprint is, why it’s important, and different way to maintain a positive digital footprint. It includes how to clean your digital trail, managing your privacy settings, spreading positivity online and being aware on what you post. To create this infographic, I used a program called Canva. Canva is a program that’s free and simple to use. It includes different varieties of designs and templates to choose from.
Personal/Social Competency Reflection
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy balance online presence including reducing less amount of time spent online. I’m mindful to be aware on how much time I spend online, including different social media platforms. It allows me to spend less time looking at a screen and connect what’s around me. It encourages me to be productive and find other ways to spend my free time.
I know my digital footprint can have both positives and negative consequences. Digital footprints can expand and leave a trail on your actions online. I adjust my actions by being aware on what personal information I share, websites/links I click on, and managing my privacy settings. Including being misinterpreted on what you display online and being judged based on what you post. I think before posting if it’s kind, if I’m revealing too much information, and being aware on who might be able to see my posts. My digital footprint allows me to have easy access to communicate to my friends and family.
My online support network is helpful to me for school purposes, inspiration, and entertainment. Online networks allow me to use it for schoolwork for researching information and doing online learning. Online networks are a good source of entertainment where you can see different photos and videos. You are able to get information on different issues and news around the world.
