Reflecting on core competencies in Textiles 2025.

I can persevere over time to develop my ideas, and I expect setbacks and failure, but use that to develop my ideas. This year I have made a self-drafted, self-designed dress. I used the core competency Creative Thinking to design it and overcome challenges along the way. Using those setbacks I redesigned some of the problematic parts and kept making it.

Titration Lab

In this lab, I performed a titration with my partner. The first images show the moment the base was added and the pink bloom appeared, showing the beginning of the neutralization process. As we continued to slowly add the base while swirling the flask, the solution gradually approached the endpoint. The second image captures the fully neutralized solution, where the light pink color remained (At least 30s), indicating that the HCl had been completely neutralized.

I can analyze evidence to make judgments, as shown in this lab when I observed the color change from clear to light pink to identify when it was neutralized. By carefully watching for the appearance of the pink color, I was able to determine when the hydrochloric acid had been fully neutralized by the base. This demonstrated my ability to think critically and make accurate decisions based on visual evidence.
