ADL: Persuasion and Advertising Project

Persuasion and Advertising Learning Reflection

The technique I used for this ad is name calling, calling out Burger King for their burgers, saying that the King could never make a better burger. The reason I picked these colours is because the colours clash well together. the reason I used red is because it stands out from the poster, almost attacking you eyes, in a good way though. One thing that other people should know about Ads is that all of them have a way of making you try to buy or know about their topic.

Core Competency Reflection

Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are using new ways to make decorations for the poster. Using the limited amount of shapes to make decorations. This might be one of the best things I’ve learned for making decorations.

I used to think that no work or clever ideas gets put into advertisements. And now I know lots of creative ideas can be put into ads because of this project. Who knew that there were so many ways of making an ad.

R3: school life

Japan’s schools are way different than schools in Canada. All schools are built the same for both interior and exterior in Japan, Plus all school kids wear the same uniform all day, down to their lunch kits. All of the students lunches are supplied from the school and made everyday. There are also no janitors in Japanese schools, all of the students help clean up around the end of the day.

Another thing that would shock people is the way the students go to school. All students, young to old, take public transport (bus/ train) to school or walk. the reason why i say that this might shock people is because the crime rate/ kidnapping rate is way higher than Japan. they have way more strict rules over there about these things.

i picked tanuki because it reminds me of the Mario power up from some of the games. I also picked it because i know a lot about it and that I find it interesting from the video that we watched in class

The Tanuki act almost the same as a kitsune, being tricksters and pranking humans and can change shape into other things. tanuki are racoon dogs that are mostly found in mountains and forests throughout Japan. They are carnivores that feed on small animals in the wild and also drink alcohol from time to time.

‘I say that the monsters in western cultures do differ a lot than the yokai in Japan because the yokai are more like spirits instead of one off stories made by people in the past. The same can be said with mythical creatures created from stories from the older days since most people only know the mythical ones as myths and not real. It has been said that some Yokai are real and that’s what sets the difference for me.

I believe that some yokai might exist in real life, some i feel like may exist are the Tanuki, kappa and more. ive seen what some of these look like in pictures and seen them realistically in them.

The age I was when I started to do chores was around ten years old cleaning the door knobs since covid was going around and we had to disinfect anything that could get some bacteria on it. Next, I started to vacuum upstairs where all our rooms are. Once I became 13 I had to start mopping around the house and washing the cars sometimes. Once I had to clean up our mercedes after a long road trip, that cleaning took a few hours since he wanted a deep clean on the car.

My first time going somewhere by myself was walking to school back in grade 5. we moved closer to my elementary school which allowed me to walk a smaller distance than from my old house. After a while I biked from there and back. Once I got into middle school I started just walking since its way easier than bringing my bike. The first time I used transit by myself was back in grade 7. I used to walk up to the bus stop near my house and went to Lougheed station, after that I would take the SkyTrain to Burnaby and work with my dad at his mechanic shop. Last summer break I used to do that each day and went to other places around Lougheed and Brentwood malls.

Ever since my dad opened his own mechanic shop in Burnaby. i was there at least every week or two, especially during the summer breaks trying to make some money working over there. even if he was eating in the break room, I was in the main room taking calls and helping people pay with the orders.

i think if people act the same in Canada the same as how people act in Japan, parents might be less scared letting them go to places outside by themselves. because of the crime rate in these western countries is way higher that Japan, that’s the reason why parents are anxious if there kids get kidnapped or worse. It can even happen to older people, not just young kids.
