MONSTER Presentation Power Point Assignment: Self- Assessment

Curricular Response How does this slide represent some of the design considerations you were asked to use in the making of this presentation? For example- font, images, text density, color?

This slide shows the Yeti from a video game, and I chose an image that creates a dark and mysterious tone. I used a simple layout with low text so the image stands out more and doesn’t distract from my speaking. The font is clear and easy to read, which helps keep the slide professional. I also picked colors that match the creepy feeling of the monster. These design choices helped my presentation stay focused and visually interesting.

Core Competency Self-Assessment

This assignment was different from a typical English class task because it was more visual and creative, which made me think in a new way. One challenge I faced was organizing my ideas into a presentation instead of writing them out like I usually do. I had to make sure my slides looked good and still clearly shared my points, which took extra time. I overcame this by planning carefully and practicing what I was going to say out loud. Next time, I would start earlier so I have more time to improve my design and feel more confident when presenting.

Learning the Scientific Method: Self Assessment

Artifacts: My favorite part of golf tower image is my hand because its funny to see a random hand. Another part that’s my favorite for the egg dropper test is the hut basically destroyed because it looked like the hut survived WWII.

This is the object to protect the egg for the egg dropping test

This is the newspaper tower that’s suppose to hold a golf for the golf tower project.

Headings: Core Competency Self Assessment and creative thinking

The scientific method lab that i am most proud of is the golf tower project because We made the tower but found that it could barely stand, we somehow worked hard on it and were successful in getting it to stand and balance.

The strategies we did to overcome this challenge was we asked the question, what could we do differently to avoid this the next time.

Then we decided that we needed a new starting point for our experiment.

We tested our hypothesis by doing our experiment again but this time we tried different positions for the leg and found a position that was steadier and we went for it.

We observed out experiment and it worked.

I demonstrated that I can create new things when I follow the Scientific Method

I demonstrated that I can build on the ideas of others when I do more than one experiment. This lets me observe more and ask more questions and then I can be successful.

When trying new things, I expect setbacks and failure and use them to develop my ideas. An example of this from the Scientific Method labs would be that we asked questions, developed other possible ideas or ways to have the golf leg to be able to stand up.

Persuasion and Advertising Learning Reflection

In my advertisement I used a special offer method. The method is being used by saying, you could become the next famous rally driver OR saying the Vehicle was signed by the famous driver who passed away and you’re going to take his place. this would make people interested because who wouldn’t want to become famous?

Core Competency Reflection

If you’re wondering how I made the video, I used PowerPoint and I downloaded a 3D model of the car from a website, also I used colors, shapes, and rotations for the PowerPoint.
