Curricular reflection

My career life reflection. After completing this course I have learned many things about careers and life as a worker. Some examples would be using the 20-30-50 rule to help better manage your income and the importance of a good work life balance. When doing my budgeting assignment I was able to set a career goal for myself. The career goal of mine that I have set for the future is to be able to save up enough money to buy my own car. The career path that I want to go into in the future is to be a movie director. After completing the career life project presentation I have been able to find lots of information on my future career pathway. This course has helped me learn the many different aspects of having a career.

Core Competency Reflection

Acquiring and presenting information

After completing this assignment I was able to acquire and present information very well. I used many different tools such as power point and many different websites on google to help me with acquiring and presenting information.

Recognizing personal values and choices

I was able to recognize personal values and choices while making this presentation. During the process of making this PowerPoint of my career pathway I had to take some time to reflect on why I even wanted to go into this career path in the first place. After taking the time to reflect I was able to find the reasons why and put it into my presentation.

Focusing on intent and purpose

When making this project I had to focus on intent and purpose. during the writing process of this presentation I had to put my self in the audiences shoes and think back to the purpose of this presentation and what its intended to teach the audience.

Creating and innovating

Something that I need to work more on are my creating and innovating skills. I believe that I did very well on this project however there were still a couple of flaws in my presentation. I had all my information on my slides and the power point wasn’t very eye catching. Some improvements would be to spend more time on designing the power point and creating a separate script.

Venezuela

Comparison to your home country

there are many differences between Venezuela and my home country Canada here are a few of the differences. In Canada the traditional sport is ice hockey with players from that sport being Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid. In Venezuela there are two traditional sports hockey and soccer, some Venezuelan players from those two sports would be Jose Altuve, Miguel Cabrera, Josef Martinez, and Yangel Herrera. Some of the landmarks in Venezuela include Angel falls, Canaima National Park, and Morrocoy National Park. Some of the landmarks in Canada include Niagara Falls, Lake Louise, and Mount Robson. Some of the traditions in Canada include Canadian thanksgiving, and Viktoria day, the traditions in Venezuela include the dancing devils of yare, and Simon bolivars birthday.

I would love to visit Venezuela because of its amazing landscape and I would love to see angel falls in person.

My Project

Public Speaking

This semester I have learned many things about public speaking here are a few of those things. The first thing I learned was keeping your audience engaged in what your speaking about. you can keep your audience engaged by having good eye contact and good body language. Another thing that I have learned about public speaking is to be a good audience member. It is important to be a good audience member because it shows that your being respectful of the speaker when there presenting. Some ways that you can be a good audience member is, not talking while the presenter is, not being on your phone, not listening to music, and not distracting others from the speaker. These our a couple of things that I have learned about public speaking this semester.
