My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include planning and finding the necessary details and information I need to succeed. I would double check the information to make sure all of my information is correct
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in situations like presentations and circle discussions. When someone in my group is confused, I ask around or and if no one can understand I communicate with my teacher to get a clear understanding of what’s going on.
One goal I have for myself is being more confident. Asking more questions, becoming more comfortable with speaking infront of a class.
the two traits in the baby lab that involved more then 2 genes were skin and eye colour. When more genes are involved, like in skin color or height, there is more variation because each gene adds to the trait’s expression. This results in a wider range of phenotypes.
I think a trait I wouldn’t want my baby to have is a connected brow or a larger nose because I won’t want these traits to potentially impact my baby’s self esteem to how others may see her. I think these biases and prejudices can be influenced by social media and societal standards.
Core Competency Reflection
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I like to listen to music. when I’m feeling down I tend to listen to my hype playlist to uplift me. Sometimes I would play some calming music to get myself into the right mindset.
Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are acknowledging and valuing other peoples feelings. Showing that I care about what they’re going through and respecting their emotions. Building trust by being there for the, and understanding where they’re coming from.
Because I know my mood can have a negative impact on the people around me, I make sure that I check myself and try and stay positive to reduce any problems. it important to be mindful of how my emotions can influence time around me.
The 4 R’s of this program we used are Risk, Recognize, React, and Resuscitate.
Learning about the 4 r’s will help me make better decisions and handle challenges. Learning CPR can help you in life by giving you the skills to save someone’s life in an emergency. It boosts your confidence and makes you more prepared for unexpected situations, which can be really valuable.
CORE COMPETENCY REFLECTION
An example where i communicated clearly and purposefully can be seen in when i was doing my practical test i was able to communicate to my partner to get the aed.
One lesson that stimulated my thinking about the importance of CPR is when they talked about how doing CPR instead of doing nothing can save someone’s life
In this unit i’m proud that i accomplished this CPR unit by passing all my tests and understanding the concept of it.

Some words id use to descirbe my grade 9 year is stressful, memorable, and fun. This year I learned many things. I learned how to be independent and to be confident in going into new relationships. I learned a new language and how to make my writing more complex in English. I’ve enjoyed being able to discover new interests, being able to be part of a team, meet new people and learn new things. my stretches are being punctual, getting first block on time and prioritizing work, handing things in on time.
Duolingo has supported my learning in French. It has many lessons, exercises, and quizzes that help me improve my grammar and build on my vocabulary. Plus the app is very motivating and makes French fun to learn.
This platform mathantics is helpful. I use it when I don’t understand a math concept or I need a review on what to do. It has many different tutorials and they make learning math fun.
A Useful Educatonal Image
I chose this image because this was a project I’m really proud of. I got to make this with my group and we just had a fun time designing and creating this.
An Inspirational Quote
If you fail to plan, you planning to fail. -Benjamin Franklin
I found out about this quote from my dad because he tells me this all the time. Planning ahead can really help with staying on track and reaching your goals. Helps to keep organized and missing important stuff.

Reflect on how you manage stress in your life and care for your wellbeing. In particular, think about technology and if it is a cause or coping mechanism of stress for you. How has technology impacted your stress levels this year? How can you use technology to support you in you in your wellbeing?
When it comes time to manage my stress making sure I take care of myself is important. Getting enough sleep so I feel alive and ready to take on the day. Exercising and being active also help deal with stress. When I feel stressed or overwhelmed I like to do things that calm me down. For me listening to music plays a big role in that. Other things I like to do are take a nap, watch TV, play with my cat, do gymnastics, and go on social media. Social media provides a distraction for me from whatever I may be thinking of, allows me to connect with my friends and it’s like a little escape from reality sometimes. Even though technology can be great it can be a problem sometimes. It can be very addicting and cause me a lot of stress. At times I neglect whatever work I have or tasks I have to do and reach for my phone and go onto social media. It’s important to find a balance and use technology responsibly.
Core Competency Reflection
I find it easy to be part of a group. It’s like a team effort, where everyone brings their ideas and skills. You get to collaborate, learn from each other, and achieve things together. Plus, it can be a lot of fun too.
I am kind to others, and support others when they need it. Being aware of what’s going on, listening to their problems, and being there to help. Whether it’s giving advice, cheering them up, or just being a good friend, being kind can make a big difference because I know if I felt like this I would want someone to do the same.
I demonstrate respectful, inclusive behavior. It’s all about treating others with kindness, no matter who they are. Being welcoming and inclusive means making everyone feel valued and included because feeling left out never feels good.
During my English project i learned a lot, how to make a plot structure, picture book analysis and how to work better others. Lessons by Ms Castro and Ms Khokhar really helped me in completing this assignment. I learnt how to analyze a photo, how to interpret emotions and feelings into a drawing and how colour can dictate mood. One of Ms Khokhar lessons about Molly Bang showed me how shapes and colours can really affect and change the point of view. I knew a little bit about how colours can dictate mood but these lessons gave me a deeper understanding.
Core Competency Reflection
One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is talking to other people, going on pinterest looking at inspiration, going outside or drawing. Sharing, collaborating, building off off other people ideas really helps me.
An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is when it came time to create the graphic novel. I wasn’t completely sure on how to design or draw the graphic novel nut when me and my group got together we wrote down some ideas and created a rough draft of what we’d like the graphic novel to look like.
Is it justified to deny peoples rights in the name of industrialization/ progress?
A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project
The AI assisted me by giving me pointers to answered some of the questions I needed.
B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI?
I made sure to read and understand what the information I was getting so I can put it into my own words.
C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?
Both yes and no. The Industrial Revolution had some pros and cons to it. Even though the machines that we made were dangerous and caused a lot of deaths it did lead to new inventions.
Core Competency Reflection
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen Is since I was sick and couldn’t attend class, I had to talk to Maja to find out what I needed to get done and how. Another one was just figuring out who’s doing what. Who’s taking care of the pros and cons.
One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to make sure they know what they’re doing. Letting them know what is supposed to be done and what the goal or the desired outcome.
The breakfast hash is one of my favorite recipe. I made mine with bacon, yams, peppers brussel sprouts, onions, egg, cheese and seasoning to finish it off. In order to make this we had to fill our recipe out. Talking to our partners to figure out what we vegetables we wanted and how to make it. First we put our pan on the stove on medium low heat. We washed, diced, and sliced all our ingredients. Sautéing all our vegetables until it was tender. We seasoned them to our liking, crack an egg in the center, added cheese on top. Afrer we talked with our group and we were all ready we put it in the oven. Once the breakfast hash was done we took it out, took some pictures and enjoyed it.
Core Competency Reflection
I know the group is working well together when I hear or see everyone working together, positive energy, saying nice things and everything going smoothly.
One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to ask and make sure people know what is suppose to happen if not, I could go over what might of been said, re read the instructions to them and just let them know what’s happening.
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I tend to ask questions to get to know them better. Like what sports they play, some hobbies, maybe if we know the same people and just try and start conversations.
If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to figure out the problem, what may be causing the disagreement and compromising with what’s going on.
I learned how to use creative thinking to figure out my characters appearance. I used the details in the book to help me design my avatar. Determining the setting of the story wasn’t to hard. First I found out the area where this scenes took place. For an example if a scene was in the forest, a magical forest with fairies I would chose a mystical looking background for my movie. If the book mentioned the time of day or the weather, I would look for an image that has those properties. To me mood is like the emotion that’s going around the room, the feeling in the atmosphere. the song we picked sounded like romantic yet sad. This story was heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time. Each character had their own story, all intricate and unique. I would recommend this book to teens.
Core Competency Reflection
An example for when I built on someones idea is when we designed the avatars. If i didn’t really know what how or what to make my character look like I would ask my group members what they thought and build off of that. When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I would put on my headphones blast one of my favourite up-beat songs and that usually boosts my mood. If I need to re-focus id give my brain a short break or I would put my self in an quiet workspace so I can focus.
I can find It easy to be part of a group. Working in a group increases productivity, and develops better communication skills. I notice when people feel left out or isolate themselves so I may ask them questions, or invite them to sit next to me to make sure they feel included.
