How is hereditary information passed from one generation to the next?

Curricular Competency Reflection

the two traits in the baby lab that involved more then 2 genes were skin and eye colour. When more genes are involved, like in skin color or height, there is more variation because each gene adds to the trait’s expression. This results in a wider range of phenotypes.

I think a trait I wouldn’t want my baby to have is a connected brow or a larger nose because I won’t want these traits to potentially impact my baby’s self esteem to how others may see her. I think these biases and prejudices can be influenced by social media and societal standards.

Core Competency Reflection

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I like to listen to music. when I’m feeling down I tend to listen to my hype playlist to uplift me. Sometimes I would play some calming music to get myself into the right mindset.

Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are acknowledging and valuing other peoples feelings. Showing that I care about what they’re going through and respecting their emotions. Building trust by being there for the, and understanding where they’re coming from.

Because I know my mood can have a negative impact on the people around me, I make sure that I check myself and try and stay positive to reduce any problems. it important to be mindful of how my emotions can influence time around me.
