“I can contribute during activities with peers and share roles and responsibilities to achieve goals.”
I chose this “I can” statement because in this project we had to work together with our partners to find a way that we can fit ourselves into the frame equally. We also had to both decide what photo we wanted to take, like if it was indoors, outdoors, etc. Another thing we had to do was both figure out what pictures were going to be in final product as well as trying to edit the pictures together so we both got a similar but different outcome. In the end we got a picture that we were both pleased with, and we both thought that we got a picture that was like the picture we were hoping to get out of the project.
A) How did AI assist you in developing this project
The AI helped me because it helped me find reliable sources for my project since on google or search engines in general not all the websites are always reliable or true. But after using the AI it gave me websites that I know are reliable since the AI had found them with the information of the question I asked.
B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI?
The AI helped me find the information I needed but in order to answer the questions I was given I had to write them in my own way so that I’d be answering the questions not just listing facts I saw on the website about my question.
C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?
In some situations I can agree since the opposing party could be violent first which makes people have to be violent back for self defence. In most I don’t really understand how people can justify having violence in a protest or a revolution since there shouldn’t be a need for being violent. Most protests are supposed to just be people trying to get other people around them to agree or see their point of view on topic that is upsetting them. Which I don’t think gives people needs or reasons to be violent to one another.
Competency Reflection
My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include making sure that the websites and sources I’m using are reliable and trustworthy, putting information I find into my own words and making sure I’m still getting the information that is needed/necessary across. When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well I start by asking them basic ice breaker questions so that I can learn a bit more about them. Then I try to start working on my project with them trying to make the group work all equal so we are doing the same amount each. While working on projects like these it helps me learn more about my peers although I feel more comfortable working with my friends.
Understanding digital footprints is super important in today’s digital world. Your digital footprint is the stuff you leave behind online, like tweets, pictures, emails, etc. It’s all the things that have been put online about you, and it’s there forever. So, why should you care about your digital footprint? Well, for starters, if you don’t want your boss or future employers to find out that you didn’t make the best decisions for what you posted online, you should try searching your name on any search engine you are able to think of and see what comes up to know if what’s online about you is positive or negative. Something else that could happen is hackers being able to get into your accounts and steal your private information, which can lead to identity theft. But once you know about your digital footprint, you are able to control what is known about you on the internet. You could change your privacy settings and delete things you don’t want everyone to be able to see. But in general be careful with what you post online and think about how it could affect you and others.
Social/Personal Competency Reflection
My strengths as a digital citizen are that I’m able to remember the possible outcomes of a post before posting, this helps me to remember to check over my posts. It will help me make sure that I will have a positive impact on myself and the people around me, and not a negative. By reporting harmful activity online, it could promote unsafe behaviors. I’m helping people around me and people that could be easily influenced from hurting themselves from participating in dangerous trends online. I know that my digital footprint can have positive and negative consequences. A positive consequence is that I could increase my chances of getting jobs because a possible employer could search my name and find positive information about me online. A negative consequence could be that I posted online without thinking before about the outcome. So, when a possible employer searches my name and is shown a old post that has had a negative impact on me it could harm my chances of being hired.
