I show others that I value their opinions by asking my group what ideas everyone in my group has for the project. I find that this helps everyone’s ideas be added into the project in someway because we’ve all said things we wanted in the project so there is a compromise between the group that everyone else’s opinions are added.

When I need to work in a group of people I don’t know well, I try to talk to people inside the group to get to know at least some people in the group. For the most part I just stick to myself in those types of groups, I ask what my tasks are and then I try my best to complete them.

Somethings I think about before dividing tasks among the group members include asking my group how much they understand the project or subject, then deciding what they could do with the best of their understanding. I also consider how much they usually do in group projects, how much they are on task, how much they pay attention, etc.

Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?

It is important to remember because customers often think that they are benefitting from an ad, but it is the company making the ad that is benefitting because they are attracting people to come buy their product.

Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience:

A form of persuasion is emotional, this is effective because it influences people to buy a product because the company uses empathy to make someone empathize the person or people in the ad making them want to buy the product in order to help them.

Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product

Name calling because it influences people to buy a product because someone or something famous has and or uses that product.

Core Competency Reflection

One of the ways I ensured my group was clear on what we were doing was to give everyone specific tasks on what they were supposed to work on, we made it fair so everyone got roughly the same amount and wasn’t confused on what they were supposed to do.

When there was disagreement within the group, I found it helpful to ask the group why they were disagreeing and then resolve the problem by asking both people to say why they were upset and then solving the problem further from each of their reasonings.

When my group was not productive, we put down our phones and tried to move away from people that could distract us in order to get things moving in the right direction.
