I began chores as soon as I could walk, communicate and understand my parents. I started with simple tasks such as taking things to people and help get things that adults don’t want to make the trip for. Such as getting the remote. Japanese parents may have put a little too much trust in the children. I don’t think four year old’s don’t have the ability to navigate out of certain situations yet. Such as getting hit by a car, kidnapping, or maybe falling into ditches. I personally feel like a six or seven year old is probably a more suitable age for going on errands. I’m sure I have taken transit myself besides times with my friends, but I may fly alone back to Taiwan during winter break.
