Internet safety is important because everything you do can be tracked for good and for bad. If you leak too much of your personal life, it may become dangerous for you and possibly the people around you. This does not mean you shouldn’t use these social media platforms, this just means being aware of what you put out onto the internet, because once it’s out there it becomes difficult to undo. It is also important to be aware of your screen time because you may use screens to long and much which may lead to addictions. Things you share online can be found as well any comments or posts can all be viewed by the general public. What you post can be screenshot or downloaded. It would really get out of hand if you have something that you didn’t wanted to be shared go to the public. It could become very dangerous, not just for you, but for the people around you as well.

Some things you can do to stay safe is by setting strong passwords, being aware of what you’re putting out onto the internet, managing screen time, and don’t leave personal information such as location accessible to the public. Some of these things can lead to you getting scam calls, getting hacked, or even letting people know where you live. You can set a strong password by making sure it isn’t easily guessable or too obvious. Try to make it so your password is decently long, has numbers, symbols, and capital letters in it as well. Another way to stay safe online could be getting antivirus software. You can make sure the website you’re visiting is secure and has the security needed with the C.R.A.A.P test, which stands for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose. I do recommend this method if you like to check if the website you’re using is safe. You also need to be aware of any ways people can use to get any personal information. It could dangerous because nowadays there are many ways to do this, such as your Wifi connection, a link, or anything that requires your personal data to use. You can prevent these things by using less internet, not entering information to websites that seem sketchy, or backing up your data in case anything happens.
