my first year

my grade 9 year

some words to describe my first year at centennial would be fun, exciting, interesting, and different. this year i enjoyed all the new friends i made in all my classes and meeting new people through school sports. this year i realized i learn best by taking notes and and hands on work. one goal i am proud of from this year was getting a 98% in my fitness and conditioning class.

a useful educational website

https://kahoot.it

for my useful educational website i choose Kahoot. i choose this website because my teachers would make me play many kahoot for my English and Spanish classes. i learned new words and sentences in Spanish during kahoot games. i think i enjoy kahoot because it is a fun way to learn new things and good way to see what you know on certain topics.

an inspirational quote

for my inspirational quote i choose  “Teachers can open the door, but you must enter it yourself.” i choose this quote because i believe that teachers will give you the tools and teach you new things but it is up to you to use those tools and give yourself the future that you want.

my ADL persuasion and advertising project

my advertisement

persuasion and advertising learning reflection

a. Which advertising technique did you choose and how did you use that technique to create your poster?

the advertising technique i used was bandwagon. i used this technique by saying ” everyone has this bubblegum” on my poster.

b. Explain how and why you chose the colors, words, background, etc. that you used to make your advertisement.

i choose the colors, words and background of this poster by using Canva. for the background i used the ai generated feature on Canva. i choose to the make the words pink to match the bubblegum theme of the product i was advertising, and i made the words ” buy one get one 50% off ” in black so they would stand out on the poster.

c. What do you think others who aren’t in your class should know about advertising

i think other people who aren’t in my class should know that my product is for almost all ages except for young children that could choke on the bubble gum and that the flavor in my bubble gum will last for hours.

core competency reflection

some skills i have developed to make my creative activities better are looking at some design ideas and templates that Canva has. Another way i have developed my creative skills, is by looking at others people projects for ideas and stuff i can add to my project. one last way i have improved my creative activities is by planning out what i want to do beforehand rather then just rushing into the project. i used to think that little to no thought was put into advertising and making poster but i know that all advertisements are strategically planned out and their are many different strategies people use to make them. i know this because i had to do a project were i made my own advertisement and i also did lots of research and watched many videos about advertising.

personal/social competency reflection

my understand of what a digital footprint is, is that it is a information that is online that is public to others about you or what you post, a digital footprint is not easy to erase or get rid of. in Oder to maintain a good digital footprint you should avoid posting anything negative, rude, or hurtful on your social media.
