Making and Sharing Reflection

Making- Sometimes you need changes, sometimes the recipes don’t end up working as needed or expected to. Learning how to deal with the changes, let it be working alone or with more than expected is one of them. It’s a very big part of this foods class you need to know how to work well with others and how to communicate well with others aswell. If your recipe needs modifying that is also a thing that needs to be worked on. Learning how to edit your recipe to make it tastier and work well with the other ingredients I would say is a big aspect to your learning in foods because how are you going to make, say brownies with not enough flour? Or not enough ingredients?

Sharing- Sharing is caring huh? When making your foods it is important to be open with sharing ingredients, supplies, and of course the food itself. I think there is a point where people should be sharing food, like if they help make it or help set up and grab things to make it, we should be considerate on this. It’s important to share our experiences and things we make and learn from them.

Core Competency Reflection

-Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in the work I put in to making sure I have my recipes done and understand them, as well as making sure the people around me understand them as well.

-One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to communicate with them and make sure they understand what we are supposed to be doing as well as what they need to do said thing.

-Some things I think about before dividing tasks among group members include their opinions on what they want to do themselves. It is important to understand other peoples wants and needs as well as your own.

My personal goal is to get better at communicating with people I do not know well. “When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well” I’ll try to start and achieve it by talking to the people around me more and get to know them so I can get more comfortable with them and from there be comfortable to work better with them.
