Critical and Reflective Thinking

In this class, we applied our critical and reflective thinking by analyzing albums and exploring the creative processes behind them. Also, we discussed about the albums by doing a circle in which we dialogued about the things that we liked about each piece and the different characteristics that the artists put into it. These analysis helped us at the moment of making our own music compositions, by applying similar techniques that we learn through the listening of various albums. Critiquing the albums have deepened my appreciation of the work behind each album and developed the feedback that I give to my own compositions.

Creative Thinking

Our creative thinking was constantly put into work by deducting and imagining the story behind each album that we listened and the possible themes and messages that the artists wanted to bring. We also improved our generation of ideas and evaluation, by having a journal in which we wrote our ideas and analysis of our compositions. Also, experimenting with techniques like melody development , chord progressions and production styles developed further more our creative thinking.
