The artifact shown is a squid that I was given for the squid dissection lab on Dec 19.

Communication:

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen when I was helping other peers during the dissection. When my peers came to me and asked questions, I would provide them with an explanation that was understandable and not overcomplicated. In addition, I would show them the provided diagram to guide them with the dissection. My help was deemed effective as my peers did not run into any issues throughout the lab. Another example of my communication in the lab was with my partner. Although we decided to grab two squids (because my partner loves seafood) we still helped each other, like when I first saw my squid and was confused which were the tentacles and the arms. By talking and comparing with my partner, we were able to determine that the tentacles are the two long and thin pieces and that the arms were the pieces with suckers on them. If I haven’t been confident enough to ask my question regarding the arms and tentacles, I would have believed for the rest of my life that the arms are called tentacles when they truly are not. Another example is when the biology teacher asked one of the partners to come to her and learn how to clean the squid. Communication between me and my partner was great as she was able to teach me how to clean the squid, and I had no issues stopping and asking her questions if I was confused.
