Curricular Competency

A titration is a neutralization reaction using special techniques. The titration in this lab was used to determine the initial volume of the base and continuing to add drops of the acid (HCL) liquid till the liquid in the erlenmeyer flask was to turn into a light pink. The final volume of the burette was to be read to find the concentration at the end. The end point result was 11.71 +- 0.05mL. when the liquid had a slight tinge of pink to it. As soon as the liquid turned into a hint of pink and the liquid continued to be stirred, the colour did not change which meant the endpoint was reached. Through the initial volume of the base (NaOH) 1.15mL, the final results were 11.71mL of NaOh with the liquid tinged with a hint of pink.

Core Competency Self-Assessment

Critical/Reflective Thinking

I can analyze evidence and make judgements as through this photo, I showed my ability of being able to demonstrate what I learned in class. Through this, I am able to take constructive criticism and feedback and apply it to what I learn. By doing this, I am able to be more successful in class through taking feedback from teachers and peers. I am able to ask questions when needed or when I need help to gather the necessary information to be successful in class.

Core Competency Goals

I can communicate – By communicating more thoroughly with my teacher, I’ll gain the help I need when I have questions. This will allow me to be successful in my school year and I’ll be able to receive the help I need by asking in depth questions.

I can work efficiently – By working hard and studying extra, I can gain the grades I want. Taking more time to review study materials more frequently will allow me to become a better student and keep the things I learn in class in my head.
