Making and Sharing Reflection
Making:
When making this recipe I used lots of ingredients. I put spinach in this hash and I had left overs so I diced it up to make a garnish. This recipe had a little bit of left over filling, So instead of wasting it I filled up the three bowls more. During the process of making this recipe I used a lot of vegetables, I only needed half of some veggies like the pepper and onion. I saved these ingredients for another recipe I created.
Sharing:
When making this recipes I diced to make them for my family. I picked a day to make dinner for my mom, dad and myself. I made this meal alone with my Dads supervision. This is one reason why I gave this meal to my dad to try. I shared this meal with my mom because she usually makes dinner for me, So I thought it would be a nice break for her. Then I chose to let myself have one of these bowls since I was the one who made it I had to try it.
Core Competency Reflection
Collaboration:
I show others that I truly value their contributions by taking peoples opinions and ideas into consideration. For an example I cut up the spinach because my dad thought it would taste better.
When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I introduce myself and engage in a general conversations.
Communication:
As an active listener, I notice that I can understand and respect peoples opinions and thoughts about my food. For an example my dad loved the dish but thought it needed more pepper, I respected his thought.
The way I communicate while cooking differs from when I communicate at sports. When I am cooking I communicate a plan to myself or my peers when working in a group.
My Goal
One thing I think I need to improve on is communicating when our group is not productive and figuring out why we are not productive at times. I am working on this goal because it is an important skill to have when working with others.
