Critical and Reflective Thinking
The role of Canadian citizens is to obey Canadian law. As a community, it is important to respect peoples opinions and rights, and to volunteer and protect our environment. Everyone as a member of the world community should pull their own weight and contribute the same as everyone else; to be kind, respectful, grateful, and open-minded, and also contribute to earth’s environment in a positive way.
Core Competency
I can tell the difference between opinions and facts.
It is important to understand what it means for something to be an opinion, and not get it crossed up for a fact. Some things are the way they are; the can not be doubted or changed. It is important to recognize that and not feel pressed over it. On the contrary, an opinion is the personal feeling of another person. The way they feel about things may be different from mine. The conclusions they come up with is based on their perspective on the situation, or how they were raised to think. I may not agree or like what another person is saying, but it is important to recognize that not everyone thinks the same, and to respect and understand their opinion, or at least where they are coming from.
