Trigonometry Project

Core Competency Reflection

One of my strengths is identifying which formula to use, in order to calculate the answer for each angle and sides, my weakness is forgetting to take the last step, which would be reducing or square rooting the answer. I find motivation in this unit by analyzing, calculating, solving numbers and using interactive communication with my group mates. I found many opportunities to improve by learning new ways to calculate my answers and be open to trying out difficult questions.

CLE-10 Reflection

This is my best work since it made me motivated and thrilled the whole time I was working on this assignment. I also liked the idea of being able to understand and learning about financial and life problems.

My biggest take away from career life education was being able to see and explore more about my potential in life and what I could do with my skills, working with the reality side of financial and insurances in life.

Core Competency

The Thinking Competency is what I would use to reflect with my growth in knowledge. Over the days I have been inside of this course my knowledge skills expanded even more about life in general and being able to understand about finance, banking, jobs and difficulties of interviews. But I also explored more about potentials in jobs and if I try multiple jobs I can be able to find a job that could suit me and make me passionate for the rest of my life.

Overall this class was informative and thrilling .

R1-Sando

Shokupan is a Japanese milk bread, unlike any other breads around the world, Japanese shokupan (Milk Bread) gives out the most flavor out of many breads. (though I may be lying if I said that considering I love plain bread and each bread gives out unique flavor but shokupan might be in a whole ‘nother level) I remember I went to a T&T supermarket I got a chance to spot a Shokupan and I do not regret a single money ever wasted to such majestic bread a nice, comforting, thick layer of bread made me want to eat the whole loaf. I found recipes online about ‘Sando’ and I decided to go and make some since I am now “OBSESSED” with these breads, and the meal only really included heavy cream and fruits. (Of course, you have to whip up the heavy cream first) Japanese sando was one of the cutest and creative meal I ever had! Comparing other sandwiches in Canada (Which I never tried any) Sando gives out the flavor from the shokupan (Milk bread base) and more of a presentation from the ‘Sando’ itself. In conclusion If I was ever offered a piece of ‘Anpaman’s head’ I would definitely eat more than just a piece.

Core Competency Self-Assessment

Communicating

I can understand and share information about a topic of interest.. Doing this lab I was able to communicate with my partner and we got to understand the lab and got to share some information about what we know in the lab and how the colors change because of the chemical reactions and the PH scale/level. I got to work and collaborate as well me and my partner took turns communicating the steps and how it should be done.

Positive Learner Identity

Using Feedback to improve

Most of the percentage of the time people would learn from mistakes. But I believe using feedbacks before you make a mistake is much more reasonable, because using feedbacks will at times save you from making mistakes. But it also doesn’t mean that you stopped making mistakes. Even if you take feedbacks, you’d still get mistakes. But when receiving feedbacks, you get to sense what went wrong, or what did you do wrong, and what could be the solution, or what given hint are you to take from getting that feedback before you could make a mistake. I found this helpful in many ways because it doesn’t teach me that when your gaining advice or feedback it doesn’t mean that they’re trying to tell you how bad your work is or how often you make mistakes. it’s about gaining the confidence and honesty you get from the person that gave you that feedback and trusting their feedbacks. It could be teachers, counsellors, tutors, and even peers. But what matters is that this helped me with earning honesty, courage and improvements on my work.

Core Competency Reflection

By receiving feedback, I can work on my self-esteem and my improvements because it helped me with what I need to learn. And if I was to rely on feedbacks as part of me when face hard challenges, I would most likely use it to improve my work and to get better grades and improve my confidence with my work.

Frankenstein Film Power Point Assignment: Self-Assessment

Curricular Response:

I have chosen this image because for most obvious reasons fire mostly represents how the wretch in both films died and they were burned to death and how they created the fear of fire, in one of the movie. This slide shows the difference between two films but with just looking at one figurative image you can see there is not much difference. Because even if the fire represents what their afraid of the fire represents how similar their deaths are to one image. They were both burned to death in the 1994 and 1931 films.

Core Competency Self-Assessment:

The challenges I had to face coming from this somewhat different from a “typical” assignment, Challenges I had to face was the design and slide organization. I usually let my impulsive thoughts take over me when doing presentation designs. But to this project I had to fight my impulsive thoughts due to the fact that I wanted this presentation to be different and, in the end, I fought my thoughts aside and take just one presentation style and finished my project. There was, mostly times where choosing images was really not that easy and simple, because when I had to choose my images, I had to think of the meaning behind and what it could symbolize. As for my words I choose them quite professionally and cautiously because there was a lot of times, I wanted to just use short words to finish my presentation, but I figured It wouldn’t really look good.

Reflecting on My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

Some Words I would use to describe my grade 9th, year are. Concentrative, Challenging and Mellow. I used these words because, they fit well into most category in my grade 9 highlights. I had to be concentrative to my work all the time because I pressured myself in my grades. And while being so concentrative with all of my work. I also found it challenging, because there would be times where I’m low on sleep, I need to lie down. But I cannot because I had to focus. But it does slightly affect my mood and daily interaction with others. So most of the time or sometimes, I’m mellow.

My Favorite Website

Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice

This website helped me out with math and that I was able to enjoy this website because it is helpful more than Kumon and that thay give out more details on a math project or even subject that I am needed to take and study more about.

My Favorite Video

I chose this video because it helps me in Math. I sometimes need a deeper explanation with any type of activity I am focusing on. I also not just like the video itself I also like the channel. Because it doesn’t just focus on one topic like this video topic. But every other big math topics like, Algebra

My Favorite Image

Beautiful sunset over the sea with a view at palms on the white beach on a Caribbean island of Barbados

This is my favorite image because it helps me calm down, when I am in need to be calm. and it makes me think about some of the places I’d go to and think about the time that I might reach some of my goal and this is the place I go to this place when I am in need to calm down.

My Favorite Quote

“Failure is the great Teacher and if you are open to it every mistake has a lesson.” Oprah Winfrey

I chose this quote because it relates to my learning motivation. I imagine myself saying this to myself over and over again, whenever im unmotivated, because sometimes I just need a little push from being unmotivated. But at times I also reflect my mood at the end of the day based on how hard I reflected on this quote and see if I improved and maintain my mindset.
