Core Competency Reflection
I am so curious about woodworking that I am excited to learn more about how I could improve my skills to make it even better. I chose this statement because I am finding woodworking interesting and have been using some of tutorial time to practice my woodworking skills in the workshop. Spending time in the workshop has allowed me to pick up more skills in woodworking and learn what others are working on.
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in my Career Life Education work. I chose this statement because in CEL I have to create videos and images that represent myself so I had to think about how to do that in a clear manner. I also had to make a resume that made me think about how I am gong to communicate clearly in a concise document.
By helping others in the classroom, I make a positive difference to my peers. I chose this statement because I often help my fellow students in understanding concepts that we are learning about. This often helps me understand the concept or topic better which increases my knowledge.
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle include planning out how I will complete projects on time so that I ensure that I get my work done but also have a chance for physical activity. I feel better when I get things done before the deadline but I also like to have time to do other fun activities.
One goal that I have for myself going forward is to continue to do well in school. I plan to continue to work on the “By helping in the classroom, I make a positive difference to my peers.” statement because I like to use my knowledge to help people and by helping people I feel better and I understand more about the topic, which will help me in my schoolwork.
