I can give, receive, and act on feedback to progress toward my goals.
My artifact shows that I can take an assignment that I did poorly on, get a new one, and utilize the feedback I was given to get a better mark on the second one. one thing that i would like to get better at is the giving feedback part, as that is kind of my weakness
For this entire PowerPoint, I used a different type of font that is a little bit bolder and more eye-catching than the normal font. I also used a picture to distract from the block of words on the screen and to give it a bit of normalcy and balance throughout the slide. This was my biggest slide, so there was not much I could do with the wording, but I did slim it down to have the focus on my own words, not the slide. Finally, I added a little bit of design that was fluent throughout my presentation to add a bit of eye-catching flair to it.
I don’t think there would be much to improve on. This slide covers most of the bases for a normal PowerPoint presentation. If there were anything, it would be the words; they are the only thing that could potentially be cut down. but otherwise, I think that it looks good as is.
Core Competency Self-Assessment:
If I were to do this assignment again, I would have spoken slower and would have been clearer with my voice and crisper with my slide transitions. Other than those small things, I think that everything else would have stayed the same.
Why is it important to remember who benefits from the advertisement when you view an advertisement?
I think that it is important because at the end of the day, they are selling a product for you to buy so they can make a profit off of it. So, when watching a commercial or looking at an Ad, it’s always best to look past the flashy exterior and take a look in the actual point or use of the product to see if you actually need it or just want it.
Choose one form of persuasion and explain why it is effective in persuading you/an audience: logical, ethical, and emotional
I think that the most effective form of persuasion is emotional. I think this because people are easily persuaded by their emotion’s. for example when you see a charity Ad for kids in Africa it pulls on your heartstrings and makes you want to do something like donate. By manipulating people’s emotions or even their kids emotions who will convince their parents you can get tons more sales.
· Choose an advertising technique and explain why it is effective in selling a product
I think that the best advertising technique is celebrity appeal. For example, there is a Bic Easy Reach lighter that has one of the best ads I’ve ever seen. The ad had celebrity experts Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart. This ad was insinuating Snoop Dogg’s well-known use of weed, and they were making plays on words with the main slogan of the ad being “good for grills, fires, and so much more.”
Core Competency Reflection:
· I showed others that I truly valued their contributions by…
Making sure that everyone’s voice was heard during this project, leaving no one out of the loop, and trying to incorporate everyone’s ideas by integrating them with the project and spreading out the work so as to have others be more involved in the decision-making of the project.
· Some things I thought about when dividing tasks among my group members were…
What everyone wanted to do, the time they had, the time it would take them, and the level of work that was produced. I also thought of inclusivity and not having anyone left out of the group simply because their quality of work was the greatest in the world.
· I showed that I valued feedback from others in my group by…
Integrating their ideas into the project and making sure that they knew why or why not their ideas didn’t get added to the presentation. I also worked with the group to decide what the teacher’s potential feedback would be in hopes of improving the presentation before we even presented.
A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project?
AI helped me by giving me ideas for different points throughout my arguments; it also supplied different resources that benefited my argument and gave me jumping points that I could bounce off of. but the thing that it did the most was give a basis for a part of my argument, it was a pivotal point that if i had researched a bit more could create a big hole in my opponents argument.
B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI?
I only used the AI for basic ideas, and all of the ideas that it provided were paraphrased in my own words, with a lot of the argument being thought of in the moment of the debate to make sure I was not plagiarizing the AI.
C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?
I do agree with my position, but really, I could go either way. if we were forced to only answer the question provided and not break up the question into different parts, then i think that i would have rather argued for the pro side but because we were given that freedom i’m happy with my argument.
Core Competency Reflection
My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include:
Searching for similar topics or things that could relate in another way. a common way that i like to gather information is searching up something that i know for sure is connected then taking googles recommendations and digging deeper into the rabbit hole.
I am clear on the difference between simple “group work” and collaboration as evidenced by:
The fact that you were working together to create an argument against each other A group project is something that both parties are doing to eventually collaborate on in a presentation-like style. but for a collaboration, two people working together for a short period of time, then going off and doing their own thing.
Today we Will be going over digital footprints and why protecting yourself is important. There are three topics that we Will be going over in this document, and they are: An Explanation of why internet safety and being positive are important, Examples of unsafe and negative activities, and a description of the steps everyone can take to be positive and stay safe Without further ado, let’s begin.
Internet safety is important. This is a proven fact and should be followed by everyone who uses the internet in any shape or form. There are over eight billion people on the planet, and most of them use the internet. Sadly, even some people who want to do bad are on there as well, people who want to steal, hack, incriminate, stalk, and many more are out there just waiting for a chance to pounce on an unknowing subject to take advantage of. That’s why everyone should make an attempt to learn about their digital footprint and their safety on the internet. However, this is not the be all and end all; just because there are some people on the internet that are there to try to take advantage of you it doesn’t mean everybody on the internet is actively trying to steal your identity, and yes, whilst there might be some people on there who are trying some shady stuff, the majority is all good. You just have to keep both possibilities in mind as you are trying to search and interact with the internet and the sites that it provides. So be positive about searching the web, and just keep that warning in the back of your mind. Be careful!
Some negative activities that one can do on the world wide web are: cyberbullying, identity theft, blackmailing, and much, much more. Some of these things can happen when you are, for example, on an online game and lose to another team, and in your sadness, you say something you shouldn’t, and the other players rightfully get mad about it and insult you back, and then from then on, it’s just an endless cycle of bullying, and that’s toxic. Steps that could be taken to avoid it could be to try to do something to calm down, like switch to another game or do something relaxing, just something that takes your mind off of the loss and saying something you would regret. This way, you don’t feel bad, and the other players are not getting cyberbullied. The other thing that could happen is blackmailing. Blackmailing is tough because it is an endless cycle. If a blackmailer gets a hold of, for example, something you said that was maybe not okay or a picture of you doing something you’re not supposed to do, they can extort stuff out of you, like money, gifts, or even a nude picture. That’s the premise of sextortion. The steps that you can take to avoid this are to only post stuff that you would feel comfortable letting your parents see and only talk to people that you know and trust. This way, you can’t be taken advantage of online by someone who’s just trying to make a quick buck.
So, in conclusion, monitor who you’re talking to and what you say online; it could very well reflect back on you in a bad way. For example, if you’re in a job interview and the manager looks at your Instagram and sees a picture of you drinking a white claw on a boat on a workday from 3 years ago, that could be a potential deterrent for hiring you if they think that could be you on a workday. What you post online reflects who you are as a person, so be careful when navigating the web and remember to stay safe.

I make digital ethical choices, like respecting people’s online work. like art or a video that was made particularly well, and I like or upvote it in some way, in order to encourage the production of good media influences on the internet.
I think that my experiences as a digital citizen being part of an online community or chat group influence my hobbies because the more that you interact with people online or not, a piece of their interests and personalities rubs off on you, changing and/or influencing your own perspective.
Some of the ways that I build and maintain online relationships are to be respectful and not too forward when dealing with people online. Another way to do it is to be yourself and to not put on another character and deceive people that are really trying to get to know you as a person.
