R1 independent children

  • How old were you when you started doing chores, do you do chores?
  • My parents never really grasped the concept of allowance and chores. We usually had this approach that you would always have to wash your dishes and clean after everything you own. I perceived it as being respectful of others.
  • Do you think that children should grow up with Japanese ideals of independence?
  • After watching the show “Independent Children” I realized the amount of trust the parents have in the children and throughout all the citizens. I think if the surroundings are safe and kid-friendly, it would be really helpful for the parents to continue their work and provide for the family.
  • When did you first use transit by yourself, go somewhere on your own, or go to school by yourself?
  • I used transit by myself in the sixth grade because I had to go to school by myself. Once I started getting older, I was able to responsibly go to different places by myself as an act of independence. Comparing lives here in Canada to the lives in Japan, I sense that there are many things that will truly be a bad idea here.

Why Japanese?

Why Japanese?

Inspiration

What inspired me to choose Japanese was that learning a new language seems like a great research experience. Realistically the other reason I chose Japanese was because of anime. The art style to the voice acting, it just made me super engrossed in Japanese culture. Japan looks and seems like a great place, which brought my curiosity to a higher level. For me, in the future, I’d love to see Japan and be able to live in a place like it! Being able to write and speak Hiragana would be easier for the citizens there.

Motivation

Majority of colleges have a minimum of 2 years of a different language to enter. For me to be motivated in Gr.9 Japanese, I will do my very best to pay attention, repeat after sensei, and to optimistically participate in class. If I am struggling, I won’t be repellant in asking for help, since help is the one step forward to success.

Goals

With this newly learnt language, I am hoping to be able to get into a good college and learn Japanese as a fun aspect of school requirements. As for a further future goal, I am hoping to visit Japan as the scenery and liveliness is something I truly want to experience
