When working on my groups particle accelerator presentation, I had to use communication in multiple ways. The first way was when I had to collaborate with my groupmates to decide which information we were going to present and research as well as provided input on how we can improve our information. The second way I used my communication core competency was when I had to present my information in front of the class. When presenting, I had to put my information in simple terms that everyone could understand but still getting the point across effectively. I also had to speak clearly and loud to ensure that everyone in the class could hear me and could add information about what they learned from our presentation. Overall, this project required the use of communication within a group setting, as well as in front a group of individuals during the presentation.

Hunger Games Novel Study Reflection
Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are my video editing skills, because I had to refresh, as well as learn new skills in the FCPX software, which included green screening and moving/distorting images and videos. I am clear on the difference between simple “group work” and collaboration because group work was when we were all brainstorming ideas for the movie trailer, and put them together when we were done, while collaboration was when we were all recording, and working together to make the scenes work out the way we wanted. Some things I think about before dividing tasks among group members include thinking whether or not we are all doing an even amount of work. This is important to me because it makes sure that everyone feels values and helped in our group, and ensures that everybody’s mark is earned.

My favourite project
Some of the most important things I learned was safety, and the proper way to operate machines and tools, not only to keep myself safe, but to also prevent the machine from being damaged. I also learned very useful skills such as welding, with both oxy-acetylene, and mig welding. I also learned different strategies on how to do projects, by getting help from others.

Persuasion and Advertisement Techniques
Our product is Chocky milk and it helps you build muscle at an unnatural rate. It does that by having lots of creatine and protein and may have steroids in it. It is to show other companies the competition and innovations we are bringing to the market. We used what physique many people want in our advertisement to show that our product can help them reach their goals without the continuous dedication of going to the gym everyday. Our product is also meant to not only make you look better but allow you to perform better as well. This product does still require you to workout at a somewhat normal rate but a lot less than without this product.
Core Competency Reflection
After this project I can now identify and understand the ways all the different types of advertisements make you think. I can also now understand how all the different advertising techniques affect what you think of the product. This project also has shown me what the thinking is behind the companies when they create an advertisement for us to see. I also now know how companies make you believe that their product is the best compared to their competitor. This project also showed that their are many different types of approaches to advertisements in order for you to pay attention to them.
