Advertisement Persuasion Project

My Advertisement

Persuasion and Advertisement Techniques

Persuasion and Advertisement Unit Reflection

  1. It is important to remember who benefits from an advertisement because you want to know where your money goes before purchasing a product or service.
  2. Ethical persuasion is effective because it tempts consumers to purchase a product, especially if the celebrity endorsing it is someone they look up to. If a celebrity supports and makes claims about a product it encourages people who want to follow closely and purchase it.
  3. Card Stacking because it only presents the positives of a product. Linking positive connections with a product in your mind may make you think highly of a brand.

Core Competency Reflection

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was when I saw advertisements done by major companies. Identifying the strategies used in advertisements helped me implement them in my own advertisement.

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is while viewing different examples of past projects, quickly sorting through them, a detail that stuck out to me were the use of numbers. Therefore, in my advertisement I included numbers to represent a statistic or special offer, as an eye-catching detail.

I used to think advertisements don’t work, and now I know they do work because they grab a consumers attention and informs them about a product. While viewing examples, I saw how an advertisement builds on how familiar people are with a product; consumers being familiar with a product builds a trust and preference towards buying it.

Collaboration and Solutions for financial Literacy

Data and Solutions

Explanation

I chose my solution because it has a guaranteed return rate on the money and slowly builds over time. In addition, my solution gives me the amount of money needed to pay the first down payment on the house, while not risking losing any. On the other hand, my solution does not build up as much money as high-risk investments such as stocks. Moreover, my option doesn’t leave as much leftover money as putting it all in stocks but does offer lower risk. I believe my option works best for me because it’s a fixed return rate that will earn you enough money to pay the first down payment.

To write my calculations I used excel and to write my justification I used word.

Collaboration and Contributions

  1. I found working with my group a great way for us to share ideas and build off each other.
  2. I contributed to my group by sharing my ideas and getting everyone to share their ideas. Others helped me by giving criticism and sharing ideas that can be built off.
  3. I listened to everyone’s solution and considered them, but I ended up going with a plan that was suggested by one of my group members because I liked the way they used the money in a creative way that was also low risk.
  4. I would rate my ability to work with others in a group on a scale of 1-4 a 3.8 because I can share and listen to ideas, but I sometimes get distracted by talking with others.

Core Competency Reflection

I can think about what I am going to convey and to whom I will convey it. During my reflection I gave reasons about why my option works well and who would my plan work best with based on their risk tolerance. I was able to find key strengths in my plan and discuss the advantages.

I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences. While doing my project I thought of ways to reach the final goal in a way that made the most sense for me. Choosing how I would invest my money in relation to my risk tolerance made me think about possible options I could use. I represented my learning by creating a 3-year outline of how I would spend the money.

I can understand how my values shape my choices. When I was exploring options for my project I could understand what influenced my spending decisions. Understanding my risk tolerance and changing how much money I would put into certain things such as stocks.

I can advocate for myself. After doing my calculations for my project I needed to add a graph to visually show my show. I couldn’t figure out how to display the data; after asking the teacher for advice, we eventually figured out how to include the graph including the data.
