What I Learned In Mr. Ruzycki’s P.E. Class

This semester I learned about the emotional bank account and how to build strong relationships with others. We learned about the emotional bank account as a way to deposit and receive favors from others. When helping out in a classroom you can receive a favor in return, such as a due date extension. Moreover, using the emotional bank account can be a way to visualize your relationships with others. Therefore, the emotional bank account can help strengthen your relationships and build new ones.

Contract law storyboard reflection

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. When I was creating scenarios for the storyboard I had to find realistic ways they are used. By looking at the example I formed an idea of what mine would look like.

I consider more than one way to proceed. By finding different ways to demonstrate each scenario I showed common ways everyone experiences these contracts and laws.

Collaboration and Solutions for financial Literacy

Data and Solutions

Explanation

I chose my solution because it has a guaranteed return rate on the money and slowly builds over time. In addition, my solution gives me the amount of money needed to pay the first down payment on the house, while not risking losing any. On the other hand, my solution does not build up as much money as high-risk investments such as stocks. Moreover, my option doesn’t leave as much leftover money as putting it all in stocks but does offer lower risk. I believe my option works best for me because it’s a fixed return rate that will earn you enough money to pay the first down payment.

To write my calculations I used excel and to write my justification I used word.

Collaboration and Contributions

  1. I found working with my group a great way for us to share ideas and build off each other.
  2. I contributed to my group by sharing my ideas and getting everyone to share their ideas. Others helped me by giving criticism and sharing ideas that can be built off.
  3. I listened to everyone’s solution and considered them, but I ended up going with a plan that was suggested by one of my group members because I liked the way they used the money in a creative way that was also low risk.
  4. I would rate my ability to work with others in a group on a scale of 1-4 a 3.8 because I can share and listen to ideas, but I sometimes get distracted by talking with others.

Core Competency Reflection

I can think about what I am going to convey and to whom I will convey it. During my reflection I gave reasons about why my option works well and who would my plan work best with based on their risk tolerance. I was able to find key strengths in my plan and discuss the advantages.

I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences. While doing my project I thought of ways to reach the final goal in a way that made the most sense for me. Choosing how I would invest my money in relation to my risk tolerance made me think about possible options I could use. I represented my learning by creating a 3-year outline of how I would spend the money.

I can understand how my values shape my choices. When I was exploring options for my project I could understand what influenced my spending decisions. Understanding my risk tolerance and changing how much money I would put into certain things such as stocks.

I can advocate for myself. After doing my calculations for my project I needed to add a graph to visually show my show. I couldn’t figure out how to display the data; after asking the teacher for advice, we eventually figured out how to include the graph including the data.

Boom or Bust PowerPoint and Oral Presentation Reflection

I learned more about the 1980s recession and how it affected people globally by forcing people out of jobs, therefore lowering the demand for many things.

I learned how fast economic growth can crash because of some issue in supply, and lead to high prices and shortages.

I better understand the control banks and the government have over controlling inflation and the steps they can take to lower it.

Core Competencies

I work with others to achieve a goal. In our project I was able to share my ideas while also listening to my group members; I received and gave helpful criticism with my group members.

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. When I was working with my group we shared ideas and worked together to create new and better ideas.

Product Innovation PowerPoint and Oral Presentation Reflection

3 things I learned from the product innovation assignment is how to keep a business running, how two owners can run a business together, and why it’s important that companies keep expanding and changing their service and products.

Communication- I can understand and share information about a topic of interest in a clear, organized way. While researching more about my topic I had to convert what I read onto PowerPoint slides by filtering the information into relevant and short points. Presenting my information in a clear and organized way made it easier to follow and understand.

Core Competency Goals

If there is a disagreement in the group, I find it helpful to hear and see all the options. This semester I plan to listen to everyone before giving my opinion or agreeing with someone. In addition, I will try to notice disagreements within a group and try to find the middle ground most people are happy with; to have a plan more people agree on I encourage people to share their opinions. I know when getting all perspectives I can form a better decision.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I tend to not share as many ideas and mostly listen to what they’re saying. My goal for this year is to contribute more in groups by sharing more of my ideas when working with people I don’t know well. When sharing more ideas in a group everyone can build off each other and create better ideas.

I appreciate feedback on assignments and projects and prefer it comes in the form of a Rubrik with all expectations and feedback written down. My goal during this semester I will take the expectations given to me by my friends or teachers and imply them to my work. Moreover, Listening to everyone’s feedback gives me a different perspective on my work; taking everyone’s feedback can help me improve my work and allow me to also give out more meaningful feedback.
