English Group Club Project Reflection

Curricular Response

When reading The Only Good Indians, I enjoyed the themes of disruption to calm scenes, how they escalated and ended dramatically. I enjoyed the moments of dread, and how the characters portrayed it. I did not like the complicatedness of the book, as some scenes became hard to follow with what was happening, and I ended p having to skip over a few lines. I was fine with the graphic nature of the book, although it was abrupt with little to no warning and I understand that many people could accidentally stumble upon it if they hadn’t realized it were that kind of horror book. that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Core Competency Self Reflection

I talked cooperatively with my group and was willing to help with any task. I took up my roles and helped to collaborate with the group through speaking in front of the class, aswell as offering feedback, ideas and emotional support. when presenting to the class, I tried to ease each of our individual speeches into one idea. Although I contributed to group discussions, I struggled with focusing on the script for my part of the speech required, and ended up improvising most of it through bullet points. It wasn’t horrible, although I found my ideas to be short and less expanded on.

Life Sciences Unit Core Competencies

Critical Thinking

During the lab, I expressed critical thinking through examination and analyzation to perceive parts of the organizing I would be dissecting. My partner and I were given details to examine the diagram in our booklets, which we both utilized greatly. Through examination, I was able to use my critical thinking skills to identify, label and match the explicit organs and their characteristics. While dissecting and cutting, we were precise with our accuracy enough to prevent any form of deterioration amongst the worm’s tissue unintended.

Collaboration

I was quickly able to establish collaboration with my partner. Splitting our roles, me and them switched between doing the prodding, poking and pulling whilst the other would write. cleaning up, she was the one who would wash our materials. I tended to cleaning up and putting away the worm. we were effectively able to label, criticize and identify our ideas and thoughts of the worm. I helped my partner when it came to identifying the parts, and she helped to placement and cutting of the fragile worm parts.

Connecting Media and Psychological Disorder Mind Map

I believe that i’ve demonstrated my creative thinking. I can take two things such as a song and a prompt and use the threads and hints given to needle the two together in a way that inspires me.

I’ve demonstrated criticality as I analyzed the evidence given to show how it might fit together, unravelling what might have been intended in the artist’s mind. I am able to show what they were thinking.

in turn, I can show social and personal awareness through understanding of the disorder itself, and how key elements and symptoms may relate and be intertwined with the song. a great example would be the overall tune of the singer’s depressive state, which can be accompanied with one of the stages of Bipolar Disorder.

Monopoly Assignment Reflection

Core Competency:  What core competencies did you demonstrate with the Monopoly Assignment?

some of the core competencies I demonstrated with my Monopoly assignment may consist of the following:

Creative thinking – I show this ability through my innovative thinking when adding color and getting to specifically choose each chance card. it was a lot of fun, and I found it as a good way to exercise my creativity.

Critical Thinking- I showed this ability when making judgements on where each row should go and how, being efficiently innovative when fitting the last two larger rows, Group Influence and Attribution Errors Side by side. they turned out good, with each slot being fairly explanatory with wording and appearance.

Social Awareness – I was able to demonstrate my social awareness through the questions themselves. I was able to recognize when a person may be mistreated due to looks or stereotype, shown with the Cognition Prejudice card. I can show the opposite effects with the Proximity Attraction card, which reveals close contact with not many people around easily leading to better affection with a person.

Core Competency Goal Setting

My Two Goals For The Semester

I believe I will be able to Communicate by thinking better this year via getting to know my accomplices in my classes. I believe we can get along better through working together as a team and finding things that can help us click together better as friends.

I will be able to use Self-Determination by reading over assignments and studies when needed, making sure I have everything in place for either an upcoming test or project. I can also utilize this when working with peers as we can both put our minds together on a collective goal.

I can regulate myself and wellbeing through consistent moderation. I can achieve this by setting times and schedules for when I’ll study or do homework. when I do not have any homework OR studying to do, I can find peace in going for long walks and taking my time easy. this way, I may clear my mind better than always staring at a screen.
