Curricular Response
When reading The Only Good Indians, I enjoyed the themes of disruption to calm scenes, how they escalated and ended dramatically. I enjoyed the moments of dread, and how the characters portrayed it. I did not like the complicatedness of the book, as some scenes became hard to follow with what was happening, and I ended p having to skip over a few lines. I was fine with the graphic nature of the book, although it was abrupt with little to no warning and I understand that many people could accidentally stumble upon it if they hadn’t realized it were that kind of horror book. that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Core Competency Self Reflection
I talked cooperatively with my group and was willing to help with any task. I took up my roles and helped to collaborate with the group through speaking in front of the class, aswell as offering feedback, ideas and emotional support. when presenting to the class, I tried to ease each of our individual speeches into one idea. Although I contributed to group discussions, I struggled with focusing on the script for my part of the speech required, and ended up improvising most of it through bullet points. It wasn’t horrible, although I found my ideas to be short and less expanded on.
