Personal/Social Competency Reflection
- I am aware that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, so when online, I constantly remind myself that whatever I do on the internet will STAY on the internet forever. I also make sure all my social media turned to private, so only people I want to interact with can see it. I am very cautious of what I put on the internet.
- Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include having limited social media. So many apps have different things about them that can be scary and dangerous. I also never comment on strangers’ posts. I also think that I have a good sense if something suspicious is going on online.
- Some short/ long term goals with my digital spaces (ex. Your Edublog) include wanting to learn more about computers and technology because I think it is a very important skill to learn. So much of the world is digital now, and I would like to feel confident in using different tech skills. It will also be helpful when creating projects and doing online work.
- I plan to achieve these goals by trying different things on the computer and asking for help when I don’t understand something. My plan is to try things myself first and then reach out to people if I have questions. I would like to try doing different projects with different apps as well, like PowerPoints, Word documents, and others.
