Image 1 Text Bubble With a Pencil: I chose this image because I felt like it is a great symbol to symbolize writing a review. It showcases a pencil writing out a response/review that will be posted online. I also remembered the example Ms. Lamb gave to us about her friend that put out a review that was more like a rant. This could have ruined their opportunity for a job they may have applied for while the rant was still up. That is part of the reason I included the image in this poster.
Image 2 Magnifying Glass: I chose this image because a magnifying glass is commonly associated with the word “search.” A magnifying glass is used to search for items while google is used to search for answers.
Image 3 Three People: The 3 people can be used to symbolize everyone or “The Public.” Another reason why I chose this image is that it is easy to decipher so the paragraph to its left can be understood easier since they coincide.
Image 1 Triangle With An Exclamation Point: This image correlates with the word danger or beware. Since the paragraph, that goes alongside it, is about Explicit Content, this image can be viewed as a warning against graphic videos on YouTube.
Image 2 Comment: I used this image seeing that the comments usually look like this online. The main use of this image was relevancy.
Image 3 Thinking Emoji: I believe this image is meaningful because thinking was the main strategy present in how you can stay safe on YouTube.
Personal/Social Core Competency Self-Assessment
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including spreading awareness of injustice and losing a job opportunity so I adjusted my actions by making sure whatever I put out is something I would not regret later.
By posting positive and encouraging bible verses online, I make a positive difference to my peers.
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence: sharing what I want to post online with my friends and siblings before posting to see if there is anything wrong/questionable that would get me in trouble with anybody, going over the THINK checklist to see if anything goes against it, and making sure whatever I post will not put anyone down and, if anything, bring someone up.
