Comparison to Canada

One tradition we have here in Canada is thanksgiving which takes place in the fall. For Uruguay thanksgiving comes in the spring since the seasons are opposites. Another holiday and tradition we both have is Easter Sunday. Sports we have here in Canada that is most popular is hockey, Wayne Gretzky is the one of the best Canadian hockey players of all time. Landmarks in Canada close to us is Stanley park which is open to the public and is an absolutely beautiful place to go for a walk close to the water. A popular form of music is country here in Canada with one of the most popular country singers Shania Twain, personally I am not a huge fan of country but it is pretty well known here. In Uruguay they listen to tango and candombe with a very well known singer for tango in Uruguay is Nina Miranda. I would want to visit Uruguay because from what i’ve researched it is not super high in crime, and has wonderful beaches.

I can statements:

I can analyze evidence and make judgements: I did this during the project because sometimes you will get a source of information and it won’t sound right so you have to analyze it and check it with a different source.

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others: I am good at listening to what someone has to say or what they have researched and building off of that or asking follow up questions.

I can tell the difference between facts and opinions: I know when someone is biased because when I read someone who is putting feeling into their words and say things like “I think” then I know its not a reliable source of information and is an opinion.

I can ask open ended questions to gather information: When I am researching I always want to fully understand something and not just quickly get through it. I always ask follow ups on something until I fully understand what something is with detail.

I can reflect on my thinking: My goal is to reflect on my thinking more because I think if I would take another minute and go over what I just read and really think about I will become even more aware of what I am researching and be able to make better connections which will overall improve my writing.
