CPR Reflection

My Learning of CPR

CPR Reflection

I learned that in CPR it requires very fast paced compressions which I did not know before because before I use to think CPR was calm proper form slow compressions to the side of the chest but its actually fast 100-120 compressions per minute between the breast bone.

A key takeaway for me from the CPR unit is using the AED as It was a huge chunk of the CPR unit and learning how to attach the pads to reset the hearts rhythm was really interesting for me.

This connects to the previously learned nutrition unit as good nutrition and eating habits can lead to better heart health and lower risk of heart problems like high cholesterol, heart attacks, and cardiac arrest.

Core Competency Reflection

Examples of where I communicated clearly and purposefully can be seen in…

When I was doing CPR on the mannequin you can see me loudly and clearly communicating with my friends calling for help and requesting them to get me and AED to help revive the patient.

In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by…

I do this by building upon my friends ideas and going deeper into the topics that we discussed in the CPR unit. It helps make my brain work harder and gain more knowledge.

One of the ways I can see using this learning to help others is…

Knowing how to perform CPR is a great way to help others as I am trained and I can help save someones life who is going through a heart attack or cardiac arrest.

Study Smarter

1.

Schedule Study Blocks – You can schedule study blocks into your day to help you be more prepared for tests and exams.

Remove Distractions- You can remove all distractions like phones and other things to make sure you are focused on studying.

Studying Alone For 3-4 Hours- Your focus tends to be better when studying by yourself especially in a quiet room with nothing to bother you.

Teach Others- Teaching others can help challenge your brain and help the brain remember the information better.

Test Yourself- Right after studying briefly, you should test yourself on the information that you just read to help get your brain thinking more about the topic.

    2.

To better help me understand the daily math lessons, Each night I could briefly go over the notes for the day that we did in class, then I could maybe find a worksheet online or a Ka hoot and quiz myself on that topic to help further my understanding of the topic and strengthen those neuropathways.

    Semester Reflection

    Social Studies 10 Final Reflection

    What Was My Inquiry Topic?

My inquiry project was The Great Depression.

What Is The Great Depression About?

The Great Depression was about the economic terror of the 1930’s. It all started with the stock market crash which was caused by everyone selling their stocks after seeing a dip in the stock market. This lead to everyone losing their money and that meant they couldn’t pay back banks and so on and so on. Overall The Great Depression was an immediate cause that started a chain reaction of world wide issues in the economy.

How Did I Gather Information And Express My Ideas?

I gathered information only through websites that I would cite in my project. I would browse for an hour checking out random websites making sure that they are providing real and factual information that I could use for my inquiry project. I expressed my ideas through a very detailed powerpoint that went over all aspects and details of The Great Depression.

How Is The Great Depression Significant Today?

The Great Depression is significant today because it caused implementations of modern policies in banks to help restrict and prevent any future problems like The Great Depression. It also influenced policies in other things so that they cannot result in big problems.

    Core Competency Reflection

I can examine and evaluate to improve my own work; evidence of that is…

An example of the competency above is when I was doing my notes for my inquiry project. They were handed back and I was offered the opportunity to improve the quality. So I did that and re-handed in my inquiry notes in hopes for a better mark.

I look for, develop and weigh different perspectives and pieces of evidence, as demonstrated by…

I did this during the note taking of my inquiry project. I would look through tons of different websites giving different kinds of details and perspectives on The Great Depression. I would look at them all and ethically judge them for which ones provided the best answers and use that information in my inquiry project. I also made sure to cite all the information I gathered to make sure I was not stealing information.

An example of where I built upon someone else’s ideas is…

I did this when we were doing the Murder Mystery assignment in class. Me and my group of 3 were looking at different possible reasons for the victims cause of death. I was building upon my group mates ideas of how the victim died and we came to a well-rounded conclusion.

    Career Project

    Career Life Project Presentation

    Curricular Reflection

I have many future career life goals, In my future, I want to become a project manager. I plan on going to the University of Toronto to achieve this goal to allow myself to be useful on big projects like cities, housing, and more. I also plan to one day make a down payment on a house from my jobs income and with the help of a possible wife so that I can live a happy and economically comfortable lifestyle. Some personal growth I have shown is my ability to stay dedicated and work hard on any tasks I am doing. Before I would catch myself procrastinating quite a bit when I was trying to finish some tasks but recently that has not been as much as an issue for me and my productivity has seen a huge increase.

    Core Competency Reflection

I can ask questions and make connections.

I demonstrated this a lot during my career project while it was in the making. I would ask my teacher plenty of questions on the projects specifications to help create the best possible presentation.

I can monitor my progress and adjust my actions to achieve what I want.

At the start of the presentations creation It was very slow. I knew I had to get it done and that I had to work harder. I monitored my progress and adjusted my work blocks to help achieve completion of my presentation.

I can be an active listener.

During the presentations, a competency that was highly expressed was my active listening. I watched and observed each presentation making sure I was actively listening to each one.

I can present my ideas clearly and In an organized way.

I plan on working towards this competency. While I did present a presentation with lots of information and it was organized. I could of worked on my planning and made my presentation sound more natural and more informal rather than just reading information off of the screen that my audience easily could of done theirselves. I will work on this competency to make sure my next presentations are the best that they can be.
