CPR reflection

One of the main points I learned was that CPR is not just for heart attacks it is also used for strokes and some steps are used for choking. The key takeaway for me was that anyone can suffer from a heart attack doesn’t matter how old or how unhealthy underlying heart problems are more common than you think. Though heart attacks can happen to anyone if you do not have a balanced diet you are at a higher risk.

Core competency reflection

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I try to get familiar with the people by finding a common ground. For example, if I know we both play sports I will use that by elaborating on my skills.

One of the ways I can see using this learning to help others is if I see someone suffering from cardiac arrest or a stroke I can spring into action. When I am at a soccer game while people are exerting a lot of energy they may hyperventilate and possibly have a stroke. I may not do it myself, but I can guide someone else.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I listen to music because it helps me blur everyone else and concentrate. I also may sit away from my friends so that they do not distract me.
