Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle include… paying attention in class and trying to finish all my work at school, so after school, I can spend time with my friends and go to practice without worrying about homework. I also like to go for walks while listening to music to help clear my mind if I’ve had a long or stressful day.
If I notice people feel left out, I plan to.. go up to ask them if they are okay and if need help or want to come hang out with me and my friends to make sure they feel included.
My support network includes the following people: my friends, family, teachers, coaches, teammates, and counsellors. I plan to reach out to them when… I start to feel overwhelmed and stressed about certain things.
For this project we had to find a partner, choose a movie, create a poster, then do a presentation about our poster. My partner and I chose the movie “Monsters Inc.” I felt that during this project my partner and I worked well together, because we both did equal amounts of work, including writing a resume about the film, printing the pictures, and finding a good way to lay out all of our printouts on the poster. And in the end we got a good mark when it came time to present and talk about the poster.
This semester in french 10, we did a few skits. my favourite was “la nourriture at les courses” because I felt that the group worked really well together. When we were writing the scripts everyone was contributing their thoughts and ideas. When it was time to present the skit I felt that we were all ready and prepared, and it ended up going well.
When I am sad, angry or frustrated, doing… helps me be more productive or calm. – I get frustrated very quickly when I don’t understand an assignment or topic right away, which usually leads me to become sad or angry because I feel like I’m going to fall behind or even fail a test in the future. My goal is to try and get better control of my emotions. Some ways i can achieve this goal is by asking for help more often. i never really put my hand up in class because it makes me nervous but after the lesson i would go ask the teacher about it. I can also sign up for flex with the teacher, if i still don’t understand the task. Another way to help me be more calm is to just take a break or a few deep breaths and letting my body reset for a bit.
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I… – when I am at home doing homework I tend to lose my focus very easily, it’s usually due to my phone. Also at school, I zone out often because of how quiet it is, which leads me to waste valuable time. My goal is to try and stay focused in class and at home when I am doing work. Some ways that i can do this, is by putting my phone on silent, so im not distracted to look at it when im doing work. i can also set a stop watch, this helps me because it tells me how much longer i need to study for until i get a break, which reminds me to work hard. Lastly I have noticed that when I get eight or more hours of sleep I feel more focused and energized during the day.
Some of the things I do to stay mentally and physically healthy include… – Throughout middle school, I didn’t have a very healthy lifestyle. I used to eat a lot of unhealthy food very often, I didn’t do much exercise and I would never get a good sleep. Now i have gotten much better but there are still many ways that I can improve. My goal is to go to sleep much earlier than i used to, so hopefully i can feel more energized everyday. Compared to before i have a way healthier diet, but i definitely dont drink enough water. so my goal is to drink around 2 litres a day. Lastly I want to read more books because throughout the school year im on my electronics a lot, and i think it would be good for me.
